About Ting Labs

Ting Labs is the company behind Ting, an electrical fire prevention sensor active in more than 1.3 million homes across North America. A single Ting sensor takes 30 million measurements per second; across the fleet, the result is one of the largest continuous, high-resolution datasets ever assembled on the residential electrical grid.

Ting’s sensor fleet captures, in real time, what is actually happening on the grid downstream of grid-side sensors. Utility operations and planning teams can use this distributed telemetry to improve the reliability and resilience of an electrical grid under unprecedented pressure. Ting Data Products is a new line of business that packages this data—through portals, APIs, files, dashboards, and other interfaces—for utilities and other institutional buyers who can put it to work. Visit tingfire.com for more information.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to manage the implementation, delivery, and ongoing customer success of Ting Data Products programs for electric utilities, government agencies, emergency-management organizations, and other institutional customers.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on making customer programs work. You will coordinate onboarding, product and data access, launch readiness, recurring program reviews, issue resolution, and ongoing delivery. Strong execution and a positive customer experience will be critical to the adoption and success of Ting Data Products.

You will serve as a day-to-day point of contact for customers and coordinate across Product, Engineering, Sales, subject-matter experts, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. You will turn customer commitments into clear plans, track progress and open issues, and make sure the right people are engaged at the right time.

Customer needs will vary—from system-level monitoring, event intelligence, and retrospective analysis to sensor-level detail, and from use of the Ting Utility Grid Portal to APIs integrated into existing systems. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable with technical products, enjoys customer interaction, and brings strong organization, judgment, and follow-through.

The role reports to the Director of Program Management.

What You'll Do::

  • Program delivery. Manage the day-to-day delivery of customer programs from kickoff through launch and ongoing operation. Maintain clear plans, milestones, owners, action items, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
  • Customer onboarding and readiness. Coordinate product access, data delivery, documentation, training, and launch-readiness activities so customers are prepared to use Ting Data Products successfully.
  • Ongoing customer success. Establish regular customer cadence, understand customer goals and use cases, track adoption, coordinate value reviews, and help customers get meaningful value from Ting data.
  • Customer support and issue resolution. Serve as a responsive first point of contact for program questions and product issues. Triage requests, engage the appropriate technical or subject-matter experts, communicate status, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Program health and reporting. Monitor implementation progress, product usage, customer outcomes, risks, feedback, and open issues. Prepare clear updates for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional coordination. Bring together Product, Engineering, Sales, data infrastructure, subject-matter experts, Marketing, Operations, and customer teams to keep work aligned and moving forward.  Travel to client sites as business and program needs require.
  • Customer feedback and continuous improvement. Capture customer needs, recurring issues, and product feedback; route insights to the appropriate internal teams; and help improve the product and customer experience over time.

What We're Looking For:

  • Customer-facing program experience. 4+ years of relevant experience in program management, implementation, customer success, consulting, product operations, or customer delivery within a B2B technology, SaaS, or data environment.
  • Relevant industry experience. Experience supporting technology, data, or operational programs for electric utilities or similarly complex institutional or public-sector customers. Direct electric utility experience is strongly preferred; experience with government agencies or emergency-management organizations is a plus.
  • Customer-success mindset. You listen carefully, understand what customers are trying to accomplish, and take practical steps to help them adopt the product, and realize value.
  • Technical aptitude. Experience working with data products, analytics platforms, APIs, enterprise software, or technical integrations. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable discussing data access, permissions, integration dependencies, and data quality with technical teams.
  • Strong program execution. You can manage multiple workstreams, maintain clear plans and action items, identify risks early, and make sure commitments do not fall through the cracks.
  • Communication and judgment. You are calm, credible, responsive, and comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders. You communicate clearly when work is on track and when issues arise, and you know when to resolve a matter directly versus escalate it.
  • Collaborative, hands-on style. You are equally comfortable leading a customer check-in, coordinating access, preparing a status update, or working through the details of an implementation issue with internal teams.

Why join us?

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a groundbreaking technology that is creating a new category while helping to protect families, homes, and communities from the devastating impacts of electrical fires. We are a passionate team, dedicated to revolutionizing fire prevention to make the world a safer place. Our pace and growth trajectory offer exceptional opportunities for professional development, and we offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. If you want to take ownership, shape strategy, and drive meaningful change, you’ll love Ting Labs.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
