About the Team

The OpenAI Brand & Reputation team builds positive perceptions of the company by making AI’s benefits and OpenAI’s contribution clear. Our work brings together positive-impact storytelling, community programs and visible company action to give people a reason to believe in what we’re building.

We tell real people’s stories, work with partners to expand opportunities for communities to learn and apply AI, and develop campaigns around research breakthroughs, product improvements and meaningful company progress on the issues people care about. We bring audience insight into close collaboration with teams across the company, grounding our work in tangible outcomes and measuring how it strengthens belief in our positive societal impact and favorability toward the company.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Program Manager to help our brand team deliver integrated creative programs. You’ll work closely with our brand marketing lead, initially supporting partner-led programs and other brand initiatives, with potential to support storytelling programs over time.

You’ll turn direction into an executable plan, connect the people involved and keep work moving through creative development, reviews and launch. You’ll bring structure and accountability while leaving room for ideas to develop.

We need someone who understands the creative process and can balance quality, timing and changing priorities. You’ll partner with marketers who own strategy and with Creative and Production leads who own their respective disciplines.

In this role, you will:
  • Build and maintain program plans covering deliverables, milestones, dependencies, owners and approvals.

  • Coordinate work across Marketing, Creative, Production, Communications and external partners.

  • Organize creative reviews so teams have the right context, clear feedback and actionable decisions.

  • Track scope changes and delivery risks, explain their implications and recommend practical options.

  • Coordinate partner inputs and approvals so teams can progress against an agreed plan.

  • Maintain clear working documents, decision records and status updates.

  • Support launch readiness and capture lessons that improve the next program.

You will thrive in this role if you:
  • Have managed integrated creative campaigns or brand programs across multiple teams and channels.

  • Understand how work moves from brief and concept through production, approval and rollout.

  • Can build useful structure when the scope or direction is still developing.

  • Anticipate dependencies, surface problems early and keep teams accountable for agreed actions.

  • Can balance creative ambition with delivery constraints without losing sight of quality.

  • Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, creative teams and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a creative program management role at a technology company or advertising agency.

  • Experience coordinating partnerships, storytelling or campaigns with multiple approval groups.

  • A background in integrated production with responsibility across the full campaign process.

Workplace & Contract Details

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
