About Us:
The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an independent, non-profit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. In dozens of laboratories throughout the campus, researchers are working to unravel the mysteries of heart and kidney disease, cardiac complications in newborns, chronic lung disease, skin cancer, sickle cell disease, disorders of the autoimmune system, and much more. Many of these projects are collaborative in nature, involving experts from different areas of specialization. Our discoveries have prevented blindness in newborns, enabled premature infants with fragile lungs to breathe and allowed children with rare, often fatal diseases to grow up healthy and strong.
Requirements:

Prior experience in office or educational, administrative or organizational role.

GED/HS diploma. Bachelors degree preferred.

Ability to respond to multiple emails per day and prioritize task independently

Ability to make schedules and manipulate data, particularly on Excel spreadsheets

Enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and is eager to learn

Person has pride in job quality and attention to detail

Desire to stay in position for a least several years with the intent of expanding role, becoming a leader
Responsibilities:
- Read and respond to daily emails about trainee questions or concerns for licensing. schedules or assignments.
- Help create weekly and monthly schedules and enter them into main schedule website for the institution
- Plan and organize events for the residency including graduation events or meetings
- Do bi-monthly payroll of 50 trainees
- Order supplies for residency and residents
- Coordinate on-boarding of trainees both electronically and on paper
- Maintain and update files of 50 trainees both electronically and on paper
- Cover for other administrators within the Department for trainee specific duties if that person is on leave
- Work closely with existing Coordinator to learn the details and duties of the job
- Travel (potentially out of state) for educational purposes on time per year - Department funded
- Overtime may be required to accomplish necessary duties
