This role supports a fast-paced environment focused on improving healthcare delivery through emerging technologies, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and program management support.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and excited to help drive projects forward. While experience supporting VHA or other federal healthcare organizations is a plus, we're equally interested in candidates who demonstrate strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and a "figure-it-out" mindset.

  • Support program and project management activities across multiple initiatives
  • Coordinate meetings, develop agendas, and capture action items
  • Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement efforts and communications
  • Develop reports, presentations, dashboards, and briefing materials
  • Analyze information and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Support implementation and evaluation activities for new programs and initiatives
  • Conduct research and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with team members, clients, and partners to keep work moving forward
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in program support, project coordination, operations, consulting, healthcare, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • Familiarity with federal consulting environments
  • Experience creating presentations, dashboards, or executive briefings
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
  • Interest in healthcare innovation, digital health, artificial intelligence, or emerging technologies

Why Commonwealth?

At Commonwealth, you'll work alongside a collaborative team supporting meaningful initiatives that improve healthcare experiences and outcomes for Veterans. We value curiosity, initiative, and continuous improvement, and we provide opportunities to grow your skills while contributing to high-impact work.

If you're organized, adaptable, and eager to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
