We are seeking a Director to lead the PSD PMCoE, Agilent's Enterprise Software PMO, which drives portfolio governance, investment prioritization, resource planning, and execution of strategic software transformation initiatives across the company.
 
The PSD Portfolio & Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) Director will manage a team supporting the PSD Division within the ACG Strategy & Business Operations team.  This will include support for the Productivity Solutions Division and development of team structure to support the newly formed division.   This key role has accountability for execution of the projects within the portfolio, including Lifecycle and Business projects, and the overall business process of Project Portfolio Management including Roadmaps, Prioritization and Resource planning. This position will partner with key PSD and ACG Functional Leadership to assign and support Project Managers and Project Leaders to execute growth plans for Software and Automation productivity solutions. This role will also be key member of PSD Staff with facilitation of monthly Staff meetings, support of the annual strategic planning process and other critical business initiatives. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of ACG Strategy & Business Operations CoE. 

Responsibilities:  
 

• People Manager accountable for the performance and development of the PSD PMCoE Organization 

• Responsible for the individual performance, development and work assignments of the PSD PMCOE Portfolio and Project Managers.  Develop Project Managers for future roles within Agilent. 

• Accountable for the Project Portfolio Management process to facilitate and lead Staff discussions on Investment, Resourcing and Prioritization decisions.  Highlights and provides counsel to PSD Staff on Productivity Projects progress and overall PSD Portfolio Management status.   

• Actively engage stakeholders in project manager assignments, prioritization, and execution ensuring all projects are delivered with Agilent procedures, using best practices to meet agreed requirements of scope, time, cost and quality.  Effectively communicates problems, issues, risks and solutions. 

• Coach, mentor, manage, educate and develop skill sets of program and project managers and teams. 

• Collaborate with functional managers on project delivery processes, project reporting, and resource allocation and planning  

• Oversee the development of detailed project plans, work, and cost estimates, critical path assessment, budgets and schedules, including goals and risks. 

Staff member of the ACG Strategy & Business Operations CoE, aligns best practices and consistent Project Portfolio management business processes across the ACG PMCoE organizations, support growth and development and participates in organization strategic planning at both ACG and PSD levels 

This role manages a team of remote employees in US, India and EMEA.  Location (remote or on-site and time zone) is flexible but successful candidate must be willing to match working hours to needs of PSD Division Staff. 

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in project/program/portfolio management leading large scale, complex projects or portfolios with multiple stakeholder groups. 
• 5+ years' experience formally or informally leading people.

• Experience leading a program management office for a large (fortune 500) multinational company.  

• Experience with people management including development and mentoring .

• Experience with complex matrixed organizations and facilitation to address competing priorities and diverse opinions. 

• Significant experience with PLM methodologies (PMP, Agile, Scrum, Six Sigma).   

• Experience with Software development projects and processes.  Must have Agile experience. 

• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred. 

• Six-sigma, Agile or Scrum Master certification preferred. 

• Experience in the analytical life sciences, laboratory, software, SaaS, or informatics industries preferred.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $153,040.00 - $286,950.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
