About the Role:

The Production Planner will be responsible for production planning, inventory management and strategic analysis at our manufacturing locations. The individual will develop production schedules to ensure target goals are met on a weekly and monthly basis. The role helps determine material, labor and equipment requirements, and they will prepare and deliver performance reports for Operations leadership.

This role will report to the Operations Planning Sr. Manager.

This is a full-time, on-site role with company benefits based out of our manufacturing facility in Brea, CA. 

The anticipated base compensation for this role will be $80,000 - $95,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Production Planning
    • Manage production plan, work order priorities, short- and long-term capacity plans, and reporting for all lines.
    • Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided to maintain production.
      • Proactively communicates and mitigates issues with production constraints.
      • Create and schedule production orders as per plan.
    • Collaborates with Procurement, Production, Logistics, Quality and Engineering to review execution of production schedules, testing schedules, backlog status, and other potential schedule interruptions or rescheduling.
    • Support the scheduling of shipments between plant and 3PL partners to ensure timely delivery of target work orders.
    • Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding production scheduling or to provide additional information as requested from Production teams.
  • Inventory Management
    • Management of raw materials and finished goods stocking levels to achieve work order deliveries while balancing warehouse capacity constraints. 
    • Develop actions to disposition and prevent obsolete inventory.
    • Ensure data integrity of WMS and other production tracking tools is maintained.
  • Longer Term Strategic Analyses
    • Global Safety Stock
      • Own safety stock management for off-site facilities, maintaining target inventory levels, identifying replenishment needs, and coordinating inventory movements to support uninterrupted production. 
    • Develop and achieve departmental / company goals and controls.
      • Make recommendations on cost savings and efficiency improvements by identifying opportunities in material usage variance and yield
    • Develop, maintain, and leverage planning tools to assess risks, analyze variances and synthesize data across manufacturing systems to support data-driven decision-making

About You:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration preferred
  • 2+ years related experience
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business priorities and adjust production plans in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills, with ability to:  collaborate effectively with peers across multiple areas of the business, communicate effectively and efficiently with external partners (suppliers etc.), and ability to efficiently communicate upwards with senior business leaders
  • Detailed, organized, structured and efficient problem solver, able to quickly identify the most important things to focus on in an environment where things are rapidly changing every day
  • Able to develop and maintain strong cooperative working relationships within the group and across the organization
  • Demonstrated excellence using Excel or GSheets to monitor performance
  • Experience using an ERP and WMS system; Netsuite experience a plus
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources, is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
  • Someone who has high standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcome
  • Takes ownership of issues by anticipating risks and proposing solutions
  • Someone who proactively help others, stays positive and has a good sense of humor
