Position Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for all aspects of production planning for company products and assemblies at the Ventura site; to meet customer needs and comply with quality and regulatory requirements. This role works with the Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager to support the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, drives the production build plan and monitors its execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager or designee to plan production builds via the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process.
  • Manages and drives a production build plan for all assemblies and finished goods.
  • Issues work orders per production build plan as well as engineering requirements.
  • Monitors status of Work in Progress (WIP) including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of potential build problems.
  • Maintains material master planning parameters (lead time, yield, safety stocks) to keep optimal inventory levels.
  • Reviews the success of internal processes and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Collaborates with internal customers (Finance, Quality, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Production) and provides a high level of customer service.
  • Reports to management periodically, both formally and informally, on production status and performance data.
  • Understands and reinforces within the areas of responsibility the fundamentals and principles of GDP (Good Documentation Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
  • Supports company goals and objectives.
  • Comply with policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Production Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Business, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in supply chain related fields preferably in Production Planning and Inventory Management.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of production planning, MRP and inventory management.
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) or other ERP systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing procedures, specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with the flexibility to conform to shifting priorities, competing demands and timelines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task while showing excellence in performing all other responsibilities and activities.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
