Senior Product Scientist

We’re looking for a Sr. Product Scientist to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Product Science team, you will be identifying product strategies by synthesizing mixed-method analysis and leading cross-functional collaboration across multiple product spaces. Working from our headquarters in Santa Monica, you’ll collaborate closely with the Engineering, Data Science, Product Managers and Product Design teams to lead strategic research to help step ahead of short-term planning and provide clear company-wide prioritization and impact.
What you’ll do:
Lead company-wide strategic research; identify both long and mid-term product strategies; understanding and executing strategies in each market
Employ a variety of statistical, qualitative and quantitative methods to accomplish strategic research goals; create high-quality, sensitive metrics that can guide product decisions;
Provide complex insights to Software Engineering, Product Managers, Product Design teams and Product Leads about usable and scalable solutions for boosting growth of the Snapchat app and engagement of various Snap products. Support other teams with insights implementation
Lead complex cross-functional collaboration across multiple product spaces.
Work closely with product and business teams to identify research topics
Act as a thought leader in the domain of research
Work broadly across team to help identify trade-offs between short and long-term research goals and select right mix of projects to benefit team
Partner with engineers, analysts, and other technical roles to create and share research findings
Collaborate on building an implementation framework and a process by which we define a strategy for cross-functional initiatives to introduce more formal measurement while increasing transparency and innovation
Identify opportunities to establish new points-of-views on trends and insights and develop new capabilities including implementing an outsourced/vendor operating model to scale bandwidth and research expertise
Serve as a partner for a growing design practice center, advising colleagues on methodologies and best practices in implementing their own evaluative research
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience defining core strategic goals for a consumer technology or digital entertainment company
Experience planning and executing complex research projects in a product group or business area, working across multiple projects simultaneously
Experience identifying, initiating, and leading projects of large scope that contribute to the greater research/product team through mentoring, culture, subject matter, or research expertise
Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives
Experience working with large-scale data in multi-method studies
Experience building meaningful cross-functional relationships
A team player who can collaborate and build trust with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists and other cross-functional teammates
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to plan, prioritize and manage your workload across multiple projects
Ability to partner with and get buy-in from key stakeholders including executives and C-Suite
Ability to partner with Growth, Revenue, Engineering and R&D teams
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
7+ years relevant experience within product management, research, data science or design at a consumer technology company, digital entertainment, or a venture capital firm
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years in a senior management role at a customer technology company with 30+ reports
Degree in statistics, analytics, mathematics, computer science, or related technical field
Fluency in SQL or other big data querying language, experience with data visualization tools (e.g., BigQuery, Looker, Tableau)
Experience in quantitative analysis or data science
Experience with product design or product management
Experience with Python, Pandas, scikit-learn
Experience with machine learning
