The Junior Product Scientist supports Product Managers and the Quality Assurance team by conducting laboratory analyses, performing data analysis, and ensuring documentation and specification compliance across multiple food categories.
This role helps maintain product quality, food safety, and regulatory alignment by assisting with testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support quality assurance by assisting with product analysis, data gathering and trend analysis to monitor product consistency and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining product documentation, including specifications, labels, test reports, and compliance records across several food categories.
- Help ensure products meet quality requirements before internal reviews, consumer testing, or market launch.
- Participate in supplier review activities by organizing documents, compiling data, and supporting QA assessments for new or alternative suppliers.
- Support implementation of FSMA 204 initiatives for the Brands.
- Support sensory evaluations by preparing samples, capturing results, and ensuring accurate documentation of findings.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product Management, Culinary, Operations, QA) to support continuous improvement projects or product optimization efforts.
- Follow all company policies and uphold professional, respectful work standards while contributing to a positive team environment.
- Target Salary $75k-$85k depending on experience
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Biology, or related discipline).
- 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory, food manufacturing, quality assurance, or related environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of food quality systems such as GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation principles.
- Familiarity with specification writing, documentation management, or regulatory compliance preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple documentation workflows.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn QA processes, food testing methods, and industry standards.
