POSITION SUMMARY

At Cryoport Systems, our mission is to support life and health by providing reliable and comprehensive temperature-controlled logistics solutions for the life sciences through our advanced technologies and dedicated personnel.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Marketing Manager capable of operating in a fast-paced, dynamic setting to work in Product Marketing for the organization. The candidate will report to the Director of Product Marketing - PD and work in partnership with the Product Management, Program Management, and Engineering Product Development Teams to align new products to the corporate strategy and client/market needs, analyze profitability for existing and new products and support the products portfolio of temperature-controlled shippers.

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the overall success of the assigned product line including implementing go-to-market strategies, targeted campaigns, and sales training to drive demand for existing products and successful adoption for new products. The ideal candidate must be able to transform quantitative and qualitative data from our customers into insights and strategy to drive product development and improvement priorities. In this role, the individual will interact with cross-functional teams including Business Development/Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service and Clients to support products internally and externally, identify product improvements and new products that align with our corporate strategy, and support the launch and product marketing of the product line road map.

The role will focus on delivering and supporting current and new products in our pipeline and will be based in Cryoport Systems’ Irvine office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to) 

Product Marketing

  • Use knowledge of the market and client base to develop effective personas, product positioning, value propositions, and key benefits by segment/audience, ensuring that “voice of customer” is embedded in key plans and deliverables. Messaging should educate and excite our clients and internal go-to-market teams and be consistently incorporated across all internal and external channels of communication.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and marketing launch campaign plans for new products including the generation of marketing collateral, new product training for Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams and the development of creative briefs for all new launches with cross-functional teams.
  • Plan, design, execute, and measure clear and comprehensive marketing plans for assigned products and services, collaborating effectively across the Marketing team to bring the right resources together for plan implementation.
  • Provide sales team training, tradeshow and content marketing support for products, including but not limited to demos, special events, webinars, case studies, white papers, blogs.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of product-related content (internal and external), collateral, sales enablement tools, presentation materials, user guides, instructions, and product updates on new and existing products for sales personnel and end users.
  • Manage post launch activities, such as but not limited to collecting and analyzing customer feedback, reevaluating product launch strategy, messaging, and value proposition.
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert for assigned products and programs as a liaison to internal cross-functional teams and upper-level management by providing insights garnered from the Business Development/Sales, Program Management, and Sales.
  • Develops strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and supports internal communication and training initiatives designed to raise awareness for marketing activities and the utilization of sales support assets to facilitate new business development.
  • Presents to internal stakeholders on marketing initiatives – both internal and external and attends industry specific conferences as needed to inform and support marketing strategies.

Product Development

  • Contribute to the development of business cases and user requirements for new product ideas through market research, market/industry trends and voice of customer of client and end user’s needs within specific target markets to create and design products that reflect their needs.
  • Continuously seek feedback from clients, end users, and stakeholders after launch to inform the NPD team of potential product improvements. Provide input into the improvement and development of product road maps for assigned products.
  • Partner with Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, and Marketing to execute copy, packaging artwork and collateral material development and support product launch timelines and new product adoption metrics.
  • Understand the product strategy and roadmap, proactively identifying marketing opportunities at every phase and creating marketing strategies and execution plans.

Competitive Analysis

  • Understand the competitive landscape—be one of the experts with Product Management on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive products, potential competitive products, competitors, and competitor capabilities.
  • Partner with Product Management to collect and analyze data on competitors and helps to organize this data into meaningful information.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of proposed products relative to the competition, can anticipate competitive responses, and can consider competitive actions in the development of sales projections.

Product Lifecycle Management – Product Roadmap

  • Develop goals, metrics and analyze sales and profit performance of assigned product area. Assess effects for marketing promotions to provide reports and recommendations for marketing campaigns and updates to collateral for existing and new products to achieve revenue goals for assigned product areas.
  • Develop features and benefits of each product and maintain changes or updates to collateral, specification sheets, slide decks and client-facing forms. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management on product lifecycle, while assisting Sales on client transition plans.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Packaging, Engineering or Marketing related field required; and/or technical background with marketing experience appropriate to the specific needs of the product lines.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in market research, product marketing/ product management/ product development, lifecycle management in the medical device or packaging space.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have an intermediate knowledge in Adobe Acrobat Pro, NetSuite, Power BI, Data Analytics, Salesforce, Pardot. 

Compensation

Up to $130,000 depending on experience + stock + 401k + benefits
