The Role
- We’re looking for an experienced, customer-obsessed Product Marketing Manager to elevate our positioning, market insights, and product experience to capture the hearts and minds of creative learners and teachers around the world. This is a highly cross-functional role. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, design, marketing, and community, translating insights into product recommendations and go-to-market strategies that boost adoption, engagement, and retention.
What You’ll Do
- Lead go-to-market strategy: Craft compelling positioning, messaging, and offerings that will captivate learners and teachers and boost retention.
- Act as a voice of the customer: Translate user research and market insights into compelling narratives that guide product development and marketing campaigns.
- Develop compelling storytelling: Bring the Skillshare experience to life through clear, differentiated messaging across channels.
- Drive adoption and engagement: Partner with product and growth teams to design campaigns that encourage members to discover, try, and return to Skillshare, again and again.
- Perform competitive analysis: Create and share insightful analyses on key competitors. Pull out actionable insights that can be used to boost our own product and marketing efforts and better serve learners and teachers.
- Enable internal teams: Build playbooks, briefs, and sales/marketing collateral that help teams communicate our value proposition in a compelling manner.
- Measure and optimize: Track the performance of launches and campaigns, analyze what’s working (and what’s not), and continuously refine based on your learnings.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: You have 5+ years in product marketing or related roles, ideally in consumer subscription, edtech, or creative platforms.
- Excellent communicator: You are a gifted writer. You distill complex ideas into crisp, engaging messages and are good at adapting them to different audiences.
- Customer-centric mindset: You are skilled at market research – and have a knack for uncovering what matters most and translating those insights into action.
- Collaborative approach: You thrive in cross-functional settings and enjoy working closely with product managers, designers, and your fellow marketers.
- Leadership qualities: You influence and inspire cross-functional teams to implement a shared vision.
- Analytical skills: You’re highly data driven and adept at testing hypotheses, measuring impact, and refining strategies.
- Creative flair: You understand how to balance data-driven decision-making with creative storytelling that resonates and engages.
- Mission alignment: You’re excited by Skillshare’s vision of building the world’s most thriving creative learning community.
