About Us:

Notion helps you build beautiful tools for your life’s work. In today's world of endless apps and tabs, Notion provides one place for teams to get everything done, seamlessly connecting docs, notes, projects, calendar, and email—with AI built in to find answers and automate work. Millions of users, from individuals to large organizations like Toyota, Figma, and OpenAI, love Notion for its flexibility and choose it because it helps them save time and money.

In-person collaboration is essential to Notion's culture. We require all team members to work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, our designated Anchor Days. Certain teams or positions may require additional in-office workdays.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Launch Lead to be the driving force behind every Notion product launch — from the biggest platform moments to the steady drumbeat of releases that keep millions of users informed and excited. This is the PMM who makes launches go: you'll own end‑to‑end launch operations, design and evolve our launch processes, orchestrate high-stakes launches, and own release marketing including our most important user communications at notion.com/releases and our What's New emails. You'll partner deeply with Product, Design, Engineering, Growth, and the rest of the PMM team to ensure every innovation lands with clarity, craft, and impact.

If you're an expert writer, a sharp strategist, and an exceptional operator who lives for shipping great work — this is your role.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Own and orchestrate end‑to‑end launch operations for Notion's product releases, from planning through execution and measurement.

  • Conduct a high volume of launches — coordinating cross‑functional teams across PMM, Product, Design, Engineering, Growth Marketing, Demand Gen, Sales Enablement, Comms, and Creative.

  • Design, document, and continuously improve Notion's launch playbook: tiering models, timelines, checklists, and rituals that scale with the business.

  • Own release marketing: author and ship our What's New emails, changelog at notion.com/releases, and in‑product communications that reach millions of users.

  • Accelerate and uplevel every launch — raising the bar on messaging quality, creative ambition, and GTM coordination so that each release feels unmistakably Notion.

  • Provide launch coverage for ancillary features and smaller releases, ensuring nothing ships without a plan.

  • Build reporting and feedback loops that connect launch activity to adoption, engagement, and business outcomes.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:
  • 5+ years in product marketing, product communications, or launch operations at a fast‑moving technology company.

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling craft — every word counts, from a changelog entry to a video script.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional programs with many moving parts and competing timelines.

  • Strong product intuition and the ability to quickly understand technical features and translate them into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

  • A builder's mindset: you design systems and processes, not just execute them. You're energized by making the machine run better.

  • You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience owning release marketing channels (email, changelog, in‑product messaging) at scale.

  • Familiarity with the productivity, collaboration, or knowledge management space.

  • A portfolio of launches you're proud of — including the strategy, copy, and creative you shaped.

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.

Notion is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Notion is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $205,000 per year.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
