What We Do

We're looking for a strategic, customer-obsessed Product Marketing Manager to lead the go-to-market strategy for Mapbox's AI innovations and shape how customers discover, understand, and adopt AI-powered experiences.

In this role, you'll define the positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for AI-driven products and features. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to bring innovative AI solutions to market, influence product direction through customer and market insights, and drive adoption across a global customer base.

Success in this role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and strategy. You'll translate complex AI concepts into compelling customer value, develop differentiated positioning in a rapidly evolving market, and help establish Mapbox as a leader in AI-powered location technology.

If you're excited by emerging AI technologies, passionate about understanding customer problems, and motivated by bringing innovative products to market, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  •  Own the go-to-market strategy for Mapbox's AI-powered products and capabilities, from positioning and messaging through launch and customer adoption.

  • Develop differentiated product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that clearly communicates customer value across technical and business audiences.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Design, and Support to successfully launch new AI products, features, and capabilities.

  • Represent the voice of the customer by conducting customer research, synthesizing market insights, and using those learnings to influence product strategy, messaging, and roadmap decisions.

  • Define and measure the success of product launches and go-to-market initiatives by establishing key performance metrics, analyzing adoption and engagement, and continuously optimizing based on data.

  • Monitor the competitive AI landscape and translate market insights into differentiated positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies that strengthen Mapbox's market position.

  • Create sales enablement resources, including presentations, battlecards, competitive intelligence, product guides, and messaging frameworks that equip customer-facing teams to effectively communicate customer value.

  • Develop compelling customer-facing content, including blogs, webinars, solution guides, product documentation, thought leadership, and training materials that educate customers and drive product adoption.

  • Partner with Marketing to develop campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, and adoption of AI-powered capabilities, continuously testing and refining messaging to improve performance.

  • Build deep expertise in AI, location intelligence, and emerging market trends to serve as a trusted advisor across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role
  •  8+ years of Product Marketing experience. You have a proven track record of developing go-to-market strategies, launching technical products, and driving customer adoption. Experience marketing AI, machine learning, developer platforms, SaaS, or enterprise software is highly preferred.

  • Customer obsession. You care deeply about understanding customer problems and use customer insights to influence product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Strategic storytelling. You excel at translating complex technical concepts into compelling customer value propositions and differentiated messaging that resonates with both technical and business audiences.

  • Analytical mindset. You use customer research, product analytics, and business metrics to evaluate product launches, optimize go-to-market strategies, and drive continuous improvement.

  • AI and technical curiosity. You enjoy learning emerging AI technologies and can confidently communicate complex technical concepts to developers while making them accessible to business stakeholders.

  • Go-to-market leadership. You have experience owning product launches from strategy through execution, partnering cross-functionally to deliver successful customer outcomes.

  • Ownership and independent delivery of outcomes. You thrive in ambiguous environments, develop strategic plans with minimal direction, and independently drive initiatives from concept through execution.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely through presentations, customer-facing content, sales enablement materials, and executive messaging. You build alignment by providing thoughtful context and rationale to stakeholders.

  • High standards for quality. You consistently produce high-quality messaging, positioning, enablement, and customer-facing content while balancing quality with speed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborative influence. You build trusted relationships across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Design, and Support, influencing without direct authority to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

  • Growth mindset. You stay ahead of emerging AI technologies, competitive trends, and evolving customer needs while actively sharing knowledge and elevating those around you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
