At Airlock, we pride ourselves on being a team of humble, collaborative, and driven professionals who support one another and share a passion for cybersecurity.

What We are Looking For:

We’re seeking our first Product Marketing Director to build and lead this function from the ground up. This leader will define our positioning, sharpen differentiation, enable our sales and partner ecosystem, and ensure our customers fully realize the value of our products.

The Product Marketing Director will be responsible for creating a compelling market narrative, driving cross-functional go-to-market alignment, and ensuring that every customer touchpoint reinforces Airlock’s value. This is both a strategic leadership role and a hands-on builder role- ideal for someone who can think big while rolling up their sleeves to deliver messaging, content, enablement, and insights.

This role will work closely with Airlock Digital’s CEO, CRO, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define Airlock’s differentiated value proposition, with tailored messaging for target segments and personas.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across website, collateral, campaigns, and partner channels.
  • Establish Airlock’s market narrative and thought leadership voice.
  • Craft compelling, differentiated narratives that highlight Airlock’s innovation.
  • Define customer segments, buyer personas, and target audiences.
  • Build and execute GTM strategies for product launches, feature releases, and campaigns.
  • Partner with CRO on GTM ownership; drive frameworks to enable scalable execution.
  • Develop thorough, data-backed GTM strategies for new initiatives—defining the problem space, market opportunity, target customer, recommended offering, monetization strategy and business case, merchandising and messaging strategies. Share learnings across the org for alignment.
  • Drive GTM execution: Balance strategic positioning with day-to-day execution.
  • Lead high-impact launches: Plan and deliver launches of new features and capabilities with measurable business outcomes.
  • Champion data-informed decision-making: Use qualitative/quantitative research, VOC, and A/B testing to validate and optimize.
  • Responsible for setting KPIs and driving business outcomes for major launches.
  • Build playbooks, battlecards, objection handling guides, and competitive positioning tools.
  • Train sales teams and partners to effectively compete against large incumbents.
  • Deliver repeatable pitch, demo, and customer storytelling frameworks.
  • Enable the field with practical tools, collateral, and training that equip them to win.
  • Lead a Voice of Customer (VOC) program; gather insights from customer feedback, adoption, and behavior.
  • Monitor competitors and market trends (EDR/XDR/AV ecosystem).
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and integrate insights into GTM and positioning.
  • Collaborate with competitive intelligence and analytics teams to refine messaging and execution.
  • Define and own the content strategy—produce datasheets, whitepapers, case studies, blogs, and thought leadership assets.
  • Support creation of blogs, webinars, videos, and thought leadership that educate the market and support demand generation.
  • Amplify customer success stories to highlight real-world impact and build advocacy.
  • Manage and optimize customer touchpoints: website, webinars, communities, roadshows, in-product messaging.
  • Act as the “glue” between Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Influence execution and alignment across Finance, Analytics, Channel, and outside partners.
  • Contribute to clear briefs for creative and campaign teams to drive demand.
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability.
 Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS, ideally with direct exposure to endpoint/EDR/application control solutions.
  • Experience in growth-stage companies (<$250M ARR) as well as exposure to larger, more structured organizations.
  • Proven ability to build positioning and messaging that resonates with both technical practitioners and CISOs.
  • Track record of launching products, building enablement programs, and tying GTM to measurable business outcomes.
  • Bonus: Analyst relations experience (e.g., Gartner MQ, Forrester Wave).
  • Builder + Leader: Able to establish the PMM function from scratch, then scale it.
  • Hands-On Operator: Comfortable writing, building decks, and enabling teams directly.
  • Storyteller: Simplifies complex technology into compelling narratives.
  • Data-Driven: Champions evidence-based decision-making and sets clear KPIs.
  • Cross-Functional Glue: Trusted partner across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and CS.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
