So, if you are talented, driven, creative, and eager to join a dynamic, globally-connected team, then we want to talk!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for driven Product Managers who learn fast, who are humble and value teamwork; who are hungry, and believe they can make our customer's world a much better place. The ideal candidate will be technical, data-driven, creative, business savvy, and love elegant user experience. They will be growth-oriented and able to strive for product-market fit with their teams.

The kind of person who joins The Trade Desk Product Team is fearless, courageous, passionate, and willing to dream big and then execute on it. We are committed to helping you grow, challenging you with hard, meaningful work, and celebrating our successes and failures together. Yes, we do fail at times because we believe the risk is part of making big bets. So we take the risks and learn from them.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The Trade Desk is a rapidly growing company, as our CEO often says: "we're only 2% done". We are facing the biggest paradigm shift in advertising in the last century as the industry moves towards data-driven, results-oriented advertising.

As a Product Manager on the Core Workflows team, you’ll drive improvements to some of the most critical and frequently used workflows in our product. You’ll serve as a key connector between executive stakeholders, engineers, researchers, and UX designers to ensure cohesive, high-impact solutions. You will be the pivotal link between executive stakeholders, engineers, researchers, and UX designers. You will champion a user-centric approach, deeply understanding and advocating for user needs and preferences. Your decisions will be data-driven, rooted in analytics and user insights. Additionally, you will align your strategies with our company's core values and long-term objectives. You will need to navigate ambiguous situations to establish clarity through well-defined execution plans. This role also entails collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategic product roadmaps that align with business goals and user needs.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience or relevant experience
  • Background in ad technology and user experience/user interface
  • Passion -- your work matters. Your features matter. You care and give your all.
  • Grit -- sometimes solutions take creative thinking and multiple iterations. You try many different approaches to the right answer.
  • Collaborative -- the best PMs are not necessarily those with the best ideas, but those that ensure the right thing gets done.
  • Selfless -- Product Management is about making sure the best work gets done by the team, and making sure they share in the credit.
  • Empathy -- As a PM you are the voice of the customer and need to represent them from a position of deep understanding.
  • Entrepreneur -- as a PM you need to get out there and convince others of your ideas
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills both in large and small groups.
  • A sustained track record of making significant, self-directed, and end-to-end contributions to large and impactful projects
  • Ability to solve complex, technical problems with creative solutions while managing tradeoffs
  • Strong interest in what computing can do -- a passion for technology and how to apply that to problems of massive scale

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with distributed teams - we have over 20 offices globally

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
