Why we exist

Your car and your home are your most important assets, yet the experience of owning them is stuck in the 90s. Every part of the journey - insurance, repairs, financing, maintenance - is fragmented, complicated, and expensive. Jerry.ai is building the first app to manage it all.

We started with car insurance in 2019, became one of the top three brokers in the country, then added driving insights, diagnostics, and a repair marketplace. We've reached 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and became profitable in early 2024.

Why we’re hiring this role

Car insurance is still our core product today, and the Growth team owns the entire sign-up and purchase funnel today, from a user first discovering Jerry to completing an insurance policy purchase.

As our customer volume continues to grow, as we expand the number of insurance carriers offered on our insurance marketplace, and as we offer additional products outside of car insurance, there is increasing complexity being introduced to our product. We're hiring a Product Manager to join this team, learn the product from the ground up, and take on increasing ownership of funnel improvements and feature launches.

Why You Will (Or Won't) Like Working Here

  • Direct exposure: You'll report directly to our VP of Growth with visibility to the c-suite team.

  • Overseas engineering team: Our engineering team is largely based in China. You'll need to maintain 3–4 hours of daily overlap with China business hours regularly.

  • Small team: The growth team has 3 PMs (including this new hire) and the surface area is huge, which means you will have to be scrappy, but also bigger scope and ownership.

  • Fast shipping culture: We run weekly sprints. Products that take 6-12 months to ship elsewhere, we launch in 1-2 months. This means faster learning and faster growth, but also a more demanding environment.

What You'll Own

  • Phase 1: Your first few months will be to learn how to be a product manager:

    • Conduct structured product walkthroughs to map user journeys and surface friction points
Own user feedback monitoring — synthesizing signals from app reviews, support tickets, and research into actionable insights for the team

    • Drive bug triage and resolution in partnership with Engineering, ensuring quality issues are prioritized and closed

  • Phase 2: You'll take on end-to-end delivery of product initiatives like landing pages and compliance-driven features, then expanding to more complex funnel work based on how quickly you develop. You'll also contribute to A/B test design, funnel analysis, and experiment interpretation, and developing the experimental mindset that defines strong product managers.

Who You Are

  • Structured problem solver: You’re comfortable breaking ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before reaching for a solution, as well as working with incomplete information.

  • Diligent: Your follow through is impeccable. When you own something, nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Curious about customer psychology: You find customer feedback intrinsically interesting and not some box to check. You care deeply about understanding what drives how they think, feel and behave.

  • Strong communicator: You can work effectively across engineering, design, analytics, and marketing — including across time zones. You calibrate how much context others need and give it clearly.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in management consulting, product management, or product/business operations

  • Track record of independently owning ambiguous work and delivering clear outputs

  • Comfort with funnel analysis, A/B test interpretation, or structured data work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — including the ability to synthesize messy signals into clear recommendations

  • Willingness to maintain regular daily overlap with China business hours for engineering coordination

While we appreciate your interest and application, only applicants under consideration will be contacted.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
