Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together. The Company’s three core products are Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world; Lens Studio, an augmented reality platform that powers AR across Snapchat and other services; and its AR glasses, Spectacles.

The Product team combines creativity, data-driven insights, and operational excellence to shape the experiences that make Snapchat engaging and impactful for our global community. This team of Designers, Product Managers, and Strategists works collaboratively across areas like Core Growth, Content, Bitmoji, Augmented Reality, AI, and Emerging Products. Together, they craft innovative solutions that enhance user connections, elevate content and AR experiences, and drive the growth and evolution of Snapchat's core platform.

We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Product team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Build and optimize friending mechanics and invite funnels across in-app, system, and external surfaces such as Add by Contacts, Find Friends, Snapcodes, deep links, and cross-app share sheets

  • Partner with our Ranking and User Acquisition teams to align flows with recommendations, connect invite pathways to acquisition, and manage shared KPIs and feedback loops

  • Work with Messaging, Profile, Trust & Safety, Privacy, Legal, Data Platform, and Experimentation Platform to carry friending state through conversations and profiles, run graph-aware experiments, and design safe, compliant, and responsible growth

  • Write crisp product requirements and lead execution with Engineering and Design from concept to launch, tracking KPIs such as invite send and acceptance rate, time to first friend, D7 friends added per new user, and key drop-offs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong product sense with a proven ability to translate user needs into data-driven product roadmaps

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and align stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort interpreting A/B tests and large-scale funnel data

  • Empathy for how people connect online, and a deep understanding of the balance between growth, trust, and safety

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 2+ years of experience building and shipping products at a technology company; OR a Masters and 1+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Product management experience with consumer-facing social products

  • Background in growth funnels, invite mechanics, or social graph design at scale

  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, user acquisition strategies, and experience with network effects in both experimental design and measurement

  • Experience working on products with global scale and sensitivity to cultural nuances in social design and user privacy

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
