Industry Insight

Transportation logistics is the foundational industry that powers everything we rely on daily, yet it remains a complex and fragmented domain ripe for technological revolution. The US transportation logistics industry alone is an $800 billion market. Alvys is not just participating in this change; we are driving it as the fastest-growing Transportation Management System (TMS) in history, uniquely positioned to truly transform this essential sector. Your role will be at the forefront of automating and standardizing a sector that moves trillions of dollars' worth of goods annually, predominantly by truck, but still lacks modern tools and solutions. Your leadership will help bridge this gap, bringing innovative technologies to a traditionally underserved and mission-critical industry.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to own the financial products suite at Alvys. You will be responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows (covering Driver Settlements, Carrier Settlements, Invoicing, and Accounting) and for ensuring they operate reliably at enterprise scale. But this role goes far beyond maintaining the status quo. You will define and execute the product strategy that pushes our users to fundamentally rethink their financial operations in the age of AI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and outcomes for Alvys’ financial suite, including Settlements, Invoicing, and Accounting.
  • Marry customer insights with technical possibilities to ensure AP/AR workflows are increasingly AI-native.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Implementation to drive high-velocity execution.
  • Rapidly build prototypes using tools like Bolt to accelerate the product development lifecycle.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI research and fintech trends to rethink how user roles evolve as AI automates routine tasks.
  • Ensure all financial products are robust and meet the demands of enterprise-scale customers.
The Experience You Have
  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Analytical Foundation: BA/BS in a technical or analytical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or similar).
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of financial operations, fintech platforms, or B2B payment systems.
  • Enterprise Scaling: Experience building and scaling products specifically for enterprise-level customers.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to articulate a product vision, translate constraints for stakeholders, and navigate the challenges of working in a low-tech, low-trust industry.
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience building AI-powered products
    • Familiarity with freight, logistics, and supply chain operations.
    • Experience at a high-growth startup
    • Experience building financial products, fintech platforms, or payment systems (especially in B2B or logistics contexts)
The Way You Work
  • High Ownership: You take pride in the financial suite's outcomes; you don’t wait for permission to solve problems or fix broken workflows.
  • Systems Thinking: You think in complex systems and understand how financial operational reality must ground a bold product vision.
  • Bias Toward Action: You ship with urgency and increasingly leverage AI tools to accelerate your "time to outcome."
  • Collaborative Transparency: You build confidence in a low-trust industry by being transparent, articulate, and highly collaborative across teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
