The Product Manager, Destinations will lead the development of destination experiences on Airbnb, focusing on user research, data strategy, and product roadmap development while collaborating with various cross-functional teams.
The summary above was generated by AI

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

Our Product Managers imagine the ideal experience for our community and work backwards, creating innovative products that delight our guests and hosts. They deeply understand the needs of our users and translate these into a strategy that combines strong product thinking and deep research. They partner with talented cross-functional team members across engineering, design, operations, data science, and more, leading teams to execute a shared vision. They are incredibly detail-oriented and hands on.

The Difference You Will Make:

The Destinations team is responsible for how travelers discover, understand, and connect with places on Airbnb. We're building the data foundations and product experiences that help guests feel confident about where to go, where to stay, and what to do — across every stage of their journey. We are seeking an exceptional product manager to help build the next generation of destination experiences at Airbnb.

In this role, you will own product features that bring destinations to life for guests — helping them understand  locations through rich, structured content drawn from our community and beyond. You'll shape how host and guest insights become scalable destination content, and how we combine proprietary and external data into experiences that build confidence and inspire travel.

You will define and drive the roadmap for your areas, partnering closely with engineering, design, data science, and marketing to go from concept through launch. You'll collaborate across Airbnb's guest and host teams to ensure destination content connects seamlessly across the product. And you'll help develop the external narrative for new features, working with marketing and communications to bring them to market.

This is a foundational role at the center of one of Airbnb's most important priorities. The depth and quality of our destination data and experiences will underpin the company's broader product ambitions for years to come.

A Typical Day:

  • Develop and maintain a product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Synthesize feedback and translate it into compelling product features.
  • Craft the product narrative for internal teams and leadership, and the public-facing messaging that brings features to market.
  • Define goals with clearly measurable objectives and key results.
  • Shape how community insights and location data become destination experiences that delight guests and drive business outcomes.
  • Partner with the host team to unlock community knowledge and turn it into scalable destination content.
  • Define how destination content surfaces across multiple touchpoints in the guest experience.
  • Move fluidly between deep data enrichment work and high-quality consumer experiences.
  • Build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners, and leadership.
  • Develop deep expertise through user research, marketplace data, and competitive analysis.
  • Execute with speed and quality to ship features and deliver impact.
  • Make prioritization decisions in the best interests of our users.
  • Foster open communication and curiosity

Your Expertise:

  • 8+ years of consumer product management experience.
  • Track record of building and scaling consumer products that people love.
  • Strong ability to use data, research, and consumer insights to drive product strategy and decisions.
  • Experience translating user needs and business objectives into roadmaps that drive growth.
  • Experience shaping curated or derived data into consumer-facing experiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across engineering, design, data science, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing product messaging and working with marketing and communications to bring features to market.
  • Comfortable doing hands-on individual contributor product work and mastering the details.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and point of view on incorporating AI tools into the product workflow.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with location data, maps, or geospatial products.
  • Experience building products powered by user-generated or community-sourced content.
  • Experience building data foundations or structured content that enables downstream product experiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
