The Product Management Consultant will focus on turning product priorities into organized, executable work. This individual will combine product-management fundamentals with strong project-management discipline to ensure priorities, decisions, dependencies, risks, actions, and delivery commitments remain visible and actively managed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support product owners in maintaining product roadmaps, delivery plans, backlogs, priorities, and release/capability plans
- Facilitate backlog refinement, planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives, working sessions, and other product-delivery ceremonies
- Develop and maintain epics, features, user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, action items, decision logs, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate activities across product, business, engineering, operations, security, architecture, data, and contractor teams
- Track dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, milestones, and readiness conditions
- Support integrated planning and scheduling while maintaining focus on product outcomes rather than simply schedule compliance
- Facilitate requirements discussions and ensure business needs are accurately communicated to technical delivery teams
- Track decisions and ensure actions are followed through to completion
- Gather and synthesize stakeholder and user feedback for use in product prioritization
- Prepare status reports, roadmap updates, dashboards, meeting materials, and leadership communications
- Support development and tracking of product KPIs, delivery measures, and performance indicators
- Identify blockers and escalate issues requiring Product SME, Executive Product SME, or Executive Program Manager intervention
- Help establish repeatable templates, processes, playbooks, and working practices that FSA personnel can sustain independently
- Support workshops, training, office hours, and hands-on mentorship activities
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience supporting complex IT or digital-service initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with planning, requirements, backlog management, risk/issue tracking, stakeholder coordination, and status reporting
- Working knowledge of Agile and product-management practices
- Ability to organize complex work involving multiple teams and dependencies
- Strong written communication, facilitation, documentation, and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders
- Possess at least 5 years of experience in product delivery, project management, business analysis, Agile delivery, technology consulting, or related work
- Possess the ability to pass a 6C Public Trust investigation, including US citizenship
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, Product Owner, or comparable certification
- Federal consulting experience
- Experience supporting large modernization or systems-integration programs
