Title: Product Designer

Company Overview:

Do You Thrive on Innovation and Technology? At Teachstone, we’re leading the charge in transforming education through innovative, tech-driven solutions. Founded in 2008, we revolutionized the industry with our Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS®), a research-backed tool that measures teacher-child interactions proven to drive learning and lifelong achievement. We’re not just making a difference—we’re evolving how education is delivered.

Join a technology-focused team that’s building cutting-edge platforms like myTeachstone, which integrates data and resources to streamline classroom observations and teacher development. At Teachstone, you’ll help design and deliver impactful tools that empower educators to improve their interactions with students, driving real change and success in classrooms nationwide. Be part of the future of education with us!

Role Overview:

Do you live to design addictive user experiences that make people fall in love with a product? At Teachstone, we’re not just building professional development programs—we’re on a mission to reimagine online learning and make it as captivating as your favorite Tik-Tok reels. We’re looking for a Product Designer who knows how to drive up conversion and adoption rates and who can turn “meh” digital experiences into something truly irresistible. If you’re into user psychology, geek out over Cugleman, and have binge-watched every Kathy Sierra video, this is the place for you!

You’ll be creating designs that have real impact—interfaces that users can’t help but engage with. We want someone whose work has that special spark and who thrives on pushing the boundaries of what UX can do. If you’re ready to reinvent how people learn online, we’re ready for you.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for complex product features from ideation through execution, including user research, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and user testing.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Impact, and Marketing to deliver cohesive and scalable design solutions.
  • Translate business and user goals into intuitive, sticky design experiences that create value for both users and the company.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and gather insights on how users interact with the product.
  • Advocate for design and UX best practices by staying current with industry trends and applying modern design principles and tools.
  • Present and communicate design concepts and decisions effectively to stakeholders, gathering feedback and aligning teams on the design vision.
  • Work in a fast-paced agile environment, iterating quickly and responding to feedback from users and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Design, ideally within a SaaS or technology company.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in creating sticky user experiences that increase conversion rates and user adoption
  • Experience in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design with an understanding of human-centered design principles and user psychology.
  • Proficiency in modern design, prototyping and user testing tools such as Figma and UserTesting
  • Experience designing for multiple platforms (e.g., desktop, web, mobile, sometimes print) with a focus on responsive and adaptive design.
  • Experience designing within or for Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other education platforms.
  • Familiarity with front-end development principles; you understand what’s feasible, even if you don’t code.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and gain alignment across teams.
  • Proficient with conducting, interpreting and leveraging qualitative and quantitative user research to inform and improve design decisions.
  • Familiarity with designing for accessibility (WCAG standards) and inclusive design practices.
  • A growth mindset around leveraging AI—both in your own workflow and in designing smarter, AI-enhanced product experiences.
  • A proactive and collaborative attitude with a desire to work in cross-disciplinary teams.

What We Offer:

  • Fair, Competitive Pay:  We ensure equal pay for equal work, using consistent salary bands based on market benchmarks, reviewed annually. Prior salaries, negotiation skills, or fear of conflict don’t influence your pay.
  • Salary Range: 95,000-105,000 , determined by your experience, skills and internal equity.
  • Comprehensive benefits:  We offer an inclusive benefits package to support your overall well-being. Eligibility depends on your role and employment status.

Ready to Drive Innovation? At Teachstone, we’re at the forefront of technology and innovation, redefining the future of education. If you're looking for a role with competitive pay and the chance to work in a tech-driven company that thrives on bold ideas and cutting-edge solutions, this is the place for you. Join our team and help us revolutionize classrooms with the power of innovation!

At Teachstone, we encourage all individuals to apply and bring their unique perspectives to our team. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by law. We value the different experiences and ideas our team members bring and believe they are essential to solving complex challenges and driving our mission forward.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
