Product Designer with Product Management expertise (South America or Central America-based)
ShakaCode seeks a Product Designer with product management skills to lead design processes, collaborate with teams, and align designs with business goals.
Job Overview:
ShakaCode is looking for a skilled Product Designer who can bring valuable product management skills to our team. This role is perfect for a UX Designer who wants to broaden their scope and play an active role in shaping product direction and strategy. While your main responsibility will be product design, product management skills are a significant plus. The ideal candidate can occasionally contribute to product strategy and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring design decisions align with broader business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Product Design:
- Lead the end-to-end design process, from user research and wireframing to prototyping and final UI design.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
- Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs that align with the product vision.
- Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency across the product.

- Product Management Skills:
- Work closely with product management to align design work with business goals and user needs.
- Contribute to product roadmaps, providing insights from a design perspective.
- Assist in prioritizing features and defining product requirements that enhance user experience and business impact.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, and engineering, to ensure a cohesive product experience.
- Act as an advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a product or UI/UX designer with shipped products in your portfolio.
- Proven ability to balance design tasks with strategic product management responsibilities.
- Experience creating designs either mobile-first or desktop-first.
- Experience with both consumer and business systems
- Skills
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present ideas clearly.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, or similar.
- Strong understanding of product strategy and the ability to contribute to roadmap planning.
- Analytical mindset with experience in user research and data-driven decision-making.
