About the Role

We’re looking for a thoughtful and versatile Product Designer to help craft the user experience for security-focused products targeting technical and executive users. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team to bring clarity and usability to complex data and workflows — designing interfaces that feel effortless and intuitive, even when the underlying systems are not.

While your primary responsibility will be UI/UX design for the web app, there will also be opportunities to shape the visual direction more broadly, including slide decks, customer-facing materials, and early storytelling assets.

Day to Day
  • Lead the design of high-fidelity product mockups, prototypes, and UI components for web-based dashboards and workflows
  • Translate rough ideas and early requirements into wireframes and user journeys
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to iterate quickly on design concepts and implementation
  • Design visual metaphors for complex technical concepts (e.g., compliance heatmaps, progress trackers, or risk scores)
  • Contribute to or build a lightweight design system that can scale as the product matures
  • Provide assets and visual polish for external collateral (e.g., pitch decks, customer previews, or product snapshots)
  • Participate in user feedback cycles and revise designs based on real-world needs and constraints
What You Bring to the Table
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates elegant, enterprise-grade UI and a clear grasp of UX best practices
  • Experience designing dashboards, data visualizations, or B2B tools — especially in complex domains like security, DevOps, or analytics
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, or others) and a willingness to experiment with new ones
  • Familiarity with the technical constraints of implementing designs in web-based systems
  • Ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous, fast-paced, early-stage environment
  • Great taste, attention to detail, and a drive to make technical experiences feel beautiful and usable
Extra Credit
  • Background in or exposure to cybersecurity, AI, or infrastructure tools
  • Motion or interaction design capabilities
  • Experience working in stealth or zero-to-one product teams
  • Fluency in front-end patterns (e.g., components, layouts, responsiveness) and ability to collaborate with engineers on implementation

As part of Point Wild, you will:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
