Santa Monica Studio is seeking an experienced producer for the development of a new unannounced title!

The Production Team at SMS excels at creative problem solving and communication. We thrive on being at the intersection of people and productivity as the glue that holds the studio together. Whether by being leaders of the craft of production management or partners who will clear the path ahead, the production team is here to move development forward and deliver quality.

We are looking for a Producer to join our Narrative team supporting VO and Writing. In this role, you will collaborate with producers, creative leads, and directors to support the production pipeline across all phases of development, from initial design through final approval. You’ll support VO and Writing teams’ planning and execution, manage key deliverables including scripts and voiceover recordings, work closely with the Lead Producer on roadmapping, and provide day-to-day production support for the Narrative team.

Responsibilities

Manage Production Areas

  • Facilitate development efforts to keep product development on schedule, at quality, and within budget
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, triage day-to-day production issues
  • Ensure regular and effective communication between tea

Proactively Seek Resolution

  • Breakdown and prioritize work for teams, identify problems and propose solutions, and provide data-driven impact analysis
  • Ensure stakeholders have proper visibility into development and are informed of any changes that may impact their teams

Support Product Development Needs

  • Maintain and improve relationships between narrative, audio, and production teams
  • Facilitate communication between writers and editors to ensure narrative consistency
  • Partner with team managers to help provide team assignments which support career growth
  • Support retrospective discussions to refine VO and Writing production workflows for future phases
Skills

Project Management / Production

  • Proven experience producing high-performing teams
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail
  • Self-starter, you approach challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and iteration

Communication & Collaboration

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively across product development and management teams
  • Adapts quickly to changing project priorities and emergent needs

Industry

  • Knowledgeable of VO and narrative production pipelines for AAA games
  • Up to date on current industry trends, staying current on new production methodologies
  • Must love games and have a passion for crafting them
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of VO and / or Writing production experience in a AAA game development environment
  • Shipped a game as a producer overseeing VO
  • Familiarity with traditional waterfall production management techniques and Agile techniques, including SCRUM and Kanban
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Perforce, and Microsoft Office (Excel)
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with performance capture and animation pipeline
  • Experienced with two or more published titles
  • PMP or equivalent certification

$62.60$93.85 USD
