The Procurement Manager is responsible for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of procurement strategies that support the Operations organization and broader business objectives. This role provides strategic leadership across sourcing, supplier performance, contract management, risk mitigation, and cost optimization initiatives while ensuring continuity of supply for materials and services.

The Procurement Manager serves as the primary procurement partner to internal stakeholders and leads supplier relationship management activities to drive value, performance, innovation, and service excellence. This role requires strong commercial acumen, project leadership, and cross-functional influence to ensure procurement strategies align with operational needs, market dynamics, and company goals.

This position is responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership, improve supplier performance, mitigate supply risk, and enhance procurement processes. The Procurement Manager also provides leadership in market intelligence, strategic sourcing, and supplier development while fostering strong collaboration across Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk Management, and other key business functions.

This position will report to a Senior Procurement Manager.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, lead, and execute procurement and sourcing strategies for assigned categories, materials, and services in alignment with business and Operations objectives.

Identify, prioritize, and deliver cost savings, value creation, and process improvement opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, specification optimization, and demand management.

Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, RFx processes, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and implementation.

Establish and manage supplier relationship strategies to optimize performance, improve service levels, mitigate risk, and support long-term business needs.

Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier performance, delivery, quality, service, and commercial issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans.

Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders to understand business requirements, influence decision-making, and ensure procurement strategies support operational and financial goals.

Provide market intelligence, category insights, and supplier trends to support strategic planning and informed business decisions.

Lead procurement initiatives that reduce total supply chain costs, optimize inventory positions, improve lead times, and increase service reliability.

Partner with Risk Management, Quality, Operations, and Legal to identify and mitigate risks associated with suppliers, materials, and contracts.

Ensure commercial agreements and contracts accurately reflect negotiated terms, service expectations, pricing structures, risk protections, and compliance requirements.

Drive supplier development efforts to improve capabilities, quality, innovation, and responsiveness.

Analyze spend data, supplier performance data, and procurement trends to identify opportunities and support strategic recommendations.

Develop reporting and dashboards to monitor savings, category spend, supplier performance, contract compliance, and procurement effectiveness.

Lead or support cross-functional projects related to procurement transformation, system/process improvements, and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory or contractual requirements.

Mentor, coach, and provide directions to procurement team members, as applicable.

Manage team priorities, workload, and performance, if direct reports are assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or a related area.
  • Experience developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and leading contract negotiations.
  • Proven ability to manage procurement projects and drive results across multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading teams or influencing cross-functional partners is a plus.
  • Background in warehouse consumables and services procurement is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing, contracts, supplier management, and supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated success improving cost, quality, service, and risk outcomes through strategic procurement initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business recommendations.
  • Experience solving operational and supplier challenges using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Skilled at building partnerships, influencing stakeholders, and collaborating across teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working with systems and tools such as SAP, Ariba, ERP/MRP platforms, Excel, or similar procurement technologies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Adaptable, customer-focused, and able to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, SCOR, or related credentials are a plus.

Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $138,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
