The Privacy Specialist performs compliance and privacy investigations; provides research and analysis on industry standards; audits (exclusions, conflict of interest reporting, etc.); uses sound judgement and professional expertise to accurately collect facts and evidence; and maintains documentation and confidentiality of compliance and privacy investigations.
This position integrates the candidate’s compliance knowledge with their analytical and communication skills to support the objectives of VCU Health System and Compliance Services.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A
Experience REQUIRED:
Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in general compliance, regulatory, fraud and/or investigations
1 year privacy, operations, support, or paralegal role

Experience PREFERRED:
Previous healthcare regulatory environment experience
Previous systems experience with databases and on-line websites.
Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Allied Health Professions or other related field from an accredited program

Ability to independently:
Conduct privacy and compliance risk assessments in collaboration with business unit management
Conduct research providing documentation and analysis for compliance and privacy related issues
