General Description:
We are seeking a Privacy and Compliance Analyst to join our team. The Privacy and Compliance Analyst will support a variety of firm-wide projects and initiatives for the team. The incumbent in this position should have an understanding and experience with data protection and privacy laws, compliance functions, clients and third-party risk assessments, and research evaluation.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Support the Firm's data protection initiatives and processes.
- Conduct risk assessments, which may include client risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, or artificial intelligence assessments.
- Conduct investigations, inquiries, and remediation efforts.
- Provide analysis and support of privacy and compliance initiatives such as privacy by design, data minimization, continuous improvement of access management and controls, and appropriate use, handling, and protection of personal information.
- Develop and assist with corrective action plans.
- Monitor and audit via variety of Firm processes involving personal information.
- Resolve internal audit findings and ensure all operational processes align with compliance requirements.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation for firm processes and initiatives.
- Participate in data protection controls strategy and the administration of privacy and security controls in support of the firm's regulatory and federal government requirements.
- Serve as a privacy and compliance resource to cross-functional teams and workgroups to continuously identify, improve, and monitor processes designed to mitigate risk of non-compliance.
- Assist with administrative and operational privacy and compliance program functions.
- Special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-4 years of professional compliance experience, including familiarity with privacy and data protection.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with clients, internal attorneys, cross-functional teams, leaders, and subject matter experts.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and iManage.
Preferred Qualifications & Education:
- Knowledge or understanding of IT Security principles.
- GRC experience.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Privacy.
- Law firm experience.
- Fluency in Spanish language.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
This position may be filled in Washington, Illinois, District of Columbia, New York, Colorado or California. The base salary ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience. In addition to the base compensation, Holland & Knight provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.
- Washington – $74,000k – $112,000k/yr
- Illinois – $74,000k – $112,000k/yr
- District of Columbia – $81,000k – $122,000k/yr
- New York City – $81,000k – $122,000k/yr
- Colorado – $68,000k – $102,000k/yr
- California – $81,000k – $122,000k/yr
