As a Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist for Category Management (CM), you join a team dedicated to supporting the warfighter. You will further the success of our programs to help Northrop Grumman leave the boundaries of what's known and solve tomorrow's problems. In this role you will work on sending Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), and negotiating purchase orders (PO), while managing orders to completion and building relationships with our CM suppliers. This position is located in San Diego California, or Linthicum Maryland and includes a hybrid work environment supporting most Mission System plants.  This position will specifically support the Distribution category.

The Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist responsibilities will include:

  • Approaching competitive and non-competitive sourcing in request for quotations
  • Optimizing volume pricing through bid package strategies
  • Evaluating supplier proposals and placing compliant purchase orders
  • Extracting, monitoring, analyzing, and validating data information from multiple sources
  • Developing engaging and collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal partners/customers to drive problem resolution
  • Identifying strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
  • Developing and administrating contractual documentation and post awards
  • Leveraging your skill and talents throughout this role
  • Creating and establishing commercial determinations for purchase awards
  • Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by a regulated industry.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: Procurement, Subcontracts, Supply Chain, Advanced Planning,
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Experience with SAP
  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS
  • Supplier selection/management experience on US Government contract(s).  
  • Experience working within a government approved purchasing system. 
  • Experience with management of complex subcontracts

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,800.00 - $128,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
