About the Team:

The Technology team at Dow Jones oversees Product, User Technology, and Technology functions across the business. They shape customer engagement with our brands and franchises and work closely with newsrooms and partners to drive innovation.

About the Role:

This role is within the Mobile Team, responsible for building the next-generation mobile apps for premium Dow Jones brands. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, the Principal Software Development Engineer will lead technical discussions, create strategic plans, and execute them, contributing to a world-class news consumption experience.

You Will:
  • Lead technical conversations and strategic planning

  • Drive the execution of important projects

  • Contribute to building a world-class news consumption experience

You Have:
  • Four years of iOS native mobile development experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Swift and SwiftUI

  • Familiarity with data structures, system design, and design patterns

  • Proficiency in API design, MVVM, declarative UI, Git, and DevOps

  • Full-stack background is a plus, with familiarity in cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, etc.

  • Passion for news and creativity in introducing new ideas and technologies

  • Background in journalism is advantageous

Pay Range: $140,000 - $170,000
