Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer/Developer, Technical Product Manager, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field of study plus ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer/Developer, Technical Product Manager, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience with the following skills: developing software in a Micro serviced environment that deploys as a HTTP REST API application; designing and deploying applications on cloud native platforms such as Kubernetes or similar cloud native platform; configuring and using Load Balancer such as Nginx or Envoy for routing incoming requests to applications leveraging hot reload technology; developing software using Golang, C, and Python to build platform applications and tools; building applications that utilize both JSON-formatted and XML- formatted data files and payloads for data transfer; using Python and TCL scripting languages and leveraging their libraries for various computation needs to implement and test applications; using Shell scripting for server configuration; application containerization using tools such as Docker or similar containerization tool; working on AWS services including AWS VPC, Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Cloud Formation, Elastic Compute (EC2), and AWS Load Balancers; working with SQL relational database to store and retrieve user data; working with NoSQL relational database, such as MongoDB or similar NoSQL relational database, to store and retrieve user data; using modern cloud native observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and FluentD to store and observe metrics and logs; working on infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Cloud Init to automate provision of needed infrastructure and servers in Lab; using performance testing to identify bottlenecks; using either GIT or SVN source version control tool; writing applications such as Istio or similar application that runs on top of Mesh service to perform enhanced routing and load balancing in a cloud native environment; working on foundational network configuration tools including DHCP, DNS, and IPv6; working on Unix and Linux operating systems; using Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies for project management; using tools including Jenkins and Maven for leveraging Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) during development and test environments; and working on applications using high- performance computing or networking for low latency computation and processing.

Full-Time. Salary: $260,000 - $285,000 per year.
