Job Description

Become a critical member of our world-class research team by taking on the role of Principal Scientist Bioinformatics in Uppsala, driving groundbreaking advancements in Proteomics Sciences. You will have the opportunity to invent the future of our digital portfolio while fostering a collaborative and innovative spirit.

Main duties and accountabilities
  • Generate new ideas that will continue to strengthen PSX digital portfolio, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Propose and develop innovation activities and projects that align with the company's long-term strategy, encouraging balanced growth and competitive advantage.
  • Offer scientific assistance and mentoring to D&A members, improving their skills and fostering a collaborative and innovative work atmosphere.
  • Provide scientific assistance and conduct detailed technical design evaluations for research initiatives, guaranteeing excellence and successful project results.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and assess their potential impact on the company, enabling proactive adaptation and integration of recent advancements.
  • Be a champion for using modern digital technologies to improve efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Contribute to technical and product strategy.
Qualifications & proficiencies
  • PhD or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Molecular Biology or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industry or academic experience in advanced data analysis and statistics in the Life Science sector.
  • Proven track record of generating new ideas and IP.
  • Advanced programming skills in scientific programming languages such as R or Python. Skills in other methods/languages are a plus.
  • Extensive experience in applying statistical methods in medical or biological research, especially with data from high efficiency technologies in proteomics and genomics.
  • Excellent analytical mind and experience working with modern statistical and data analysis methods including machine learning.
