Job Title: Manager Polymer Process Development

Do you want to lead and set the framework for the Polymer Process Development team within the Galderma Product Science group? Do you want to lead a team of experienced process experts in developing new technologies and products in our class leading injectable product portfolio? If so, this could be the role for you as we are now hiring a Manager for the Polymer Process Development team!

As an integral part of the Product Science department, you will be highly involved in developing new products to further expand Galderma’s portfolio.

About the role

In the role you lead the Polymer Process Development team, a key department within Product Science, in their daily activities. As manager, you build a strong team and ensure every team member’s well-being. Your responsibilities include long-term strategies, daily planning and follow-up for staff, resourcing and budget for the team. Together with the experienced team you are responsible for process development and validation of Hyaluronic Acid and other polymeric products in the Galderma portfolio, evaluation and reporting of results in current and future development projects. You ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, you are also expected to be the point of contact for other departments, functions and external partners to ensure alignment on strategy, activities and timelines for your team. The team manager will also work as a Subject Matter Expert for on-going projects and activities when required. You represent the Process Sciences department in project teams as well as responding to requests from authorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Polymer Process Development team, ensure delivery on activities according to set objectives and project plans. Define and implement long- and short-term strategies, for staff, resources and budget.
  • Act as SME in projects and, together with the team, provide required experimental designs, data and author technical reports compliant with regulatory guidelines and industrial standards.
  • Implement individual development plans and yearly objectives for all team members.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and secure way in accordance with industry standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and documentation of activities and project progression for the team. Provide technical and science-based solutions from the team to projects.
  • Represent the Polymer Process Development team in project teams, towards other departments, functions and external partners.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in the development and manufacture of biopolymers, gels and particle size control methods for injectable medical devices and/or pharmaceutical products. Experience with terminal sterilization, syringe filling process development is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in process development and scale-up in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.
  • Experience managing teams, empowering others and personnel development.
  • Experience with specification, installation and validation activities for process equipment is of value as well as work in ATEX and clean room environments is desirable.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and Design Control is required. Experience in regulatory controlled work environments (e.g. ISO 13485, 21 CFR820, ICHQ8, 21CFR210/211, etc.)
  • Fluent in English, ability to work in Swedish is also desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, providing guidance and information to internal and external stakeholders
  • University degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or similar technical field.
