Pay Range (Annual):

$133,000.00 - $247,000.00

At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.

Infinera also offers paid leave, health coverage, Registered Retirement Saving Program (RRSP), life and disability insurance to all eligible employees.

Principal Project/Program Manager

About the Job

As a Principal Project Manager, within the Project Management Office, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of complex projects that span both hardware and software development. Your role will involve strategic planning, team leadership, tracking, reporting, and communication across Nokia's Subsystem organization, delivering programs related to the development of coherent optical modules and associated technology. You will lead and demonstrate the standard Program Management methodology across all cross-functional teams, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and consistency. Interaction with multiple stakeholders and the executive leadership team throughout the program lifecycle will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day activities of running a multi-discipline program.
  • Work with PLM and project stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meets business objectives.
  • Create and track well-structured schedules and milestones for hardware and software initiatives, in collaboration with various cross-functional teams, to deliver products from concept through to mass production.
  • Lead meetings with project teams to discuss strategies and progress.
  • Proactively engage with cross-functional stakeholders to identify interdependencies, resolve issues, and champion revenue-producing initiatives.
  • Direct the communication of status, issues, and risk management/mitigation to all stakeholders, including executive management, on a timely basis.
  • Champion Nokia's Product Life-Cycle Process and drive the project milestone/gate reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading large global technology initiatives, with a proven track record managing complex projects in both hardware and software domains and taking a product to market.
  • Experience in the telecommunications/optical industry is a huge plus.
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Competence in the use of Jira tool suite for project tracking.
  • Comfortable navigating tough situations, balancing priorities, and managing constraints while running sophisticated, fast-paced programs.
  • Self-starter with the ability to successfully navigate situations with a varying degree of ambiguity with a bias for action.
  • Confidence to provide dissenting views when appropriate, ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.
  • Highly adept at influencing upward and downward without direct reporting relationship.
  • High attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written; ability to present at all levels.
  • Experience leading a diverse group of individuals with different experience and skillsets.
  • Certification in project/program management such as PMP is a plus.

Location

This position will be a hybrid role based in the Ottawa location, with an expectation to be onsite an average of 3 days per week.
