Who is Forcepoint?

Forcepoint simplifies security for global businesses and governments. Forcepoint’s all-in-one, truly cloud-native platform makes it easy to adopt Zero Trust and prevent the theft or loss of sensitive data and intellectual property no matter where people are working. 20+ years in business. 2.7k employees. 150 countries. 11k+ customers. 300+ patents. If our mission excites you, you’re in the right place; we want you to bring your own energy to help us create a safer world. All we’re missing is you!

Forcepoint is seeking an accomplished Senior Platform Product Manager to define, evolve, and execute the strategy for our Data Security Cloud platform. In this role, you will shape the core platform services and AI capabilities that power Forcepoint’s cybersecurity portfolio and deliver value to customers worldwide.

As a senior individual contributor, you will own critical platform capabilities, drive cross product alignment, and influence architectural decisions that impact millions of users across some of the world’s most regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Delivery:

  • Define and drive the long-term roadmap for the Data Security Cloud platform in partnership with peer Product Managers and the Platform Product Lead.

  • Improve customer onboarding, time to value, and deliver high quality, consistent experience across Forcepoint services.

  • Translate business strategy, customer feedback, and regulatory requirements into prioritized platform initiatives.

  • Establish and measure key platform success metrics, including SLAs, availability, UX heuristics, and compliance readiness.

Data Security Platform Services:

  • Apply a Lean Product mindset to deliver common platform services that accelerate time-to-market for Forcepoint products.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering teams using Agile and scaled Agile development processes to ensure the platform supports resilience, uptime, performance, and global scale.

  • Work with Engineering leadership to align on architecture, sequencing, capacity planning, and sprint level commitments.

  • Champion adoption of platform capabilities across the product portfolio to increase consistency and reduce duplication.

Platform AI:

  • Define platform level capabilities that enable safe, compliant, privacy preserving AI assisted workflows across Forcepoint products.

  • Own platform requirements for identity, data sovereignty, privacy, and regulatory alignment.

  • Anticipate evolving product needs and AI regulatory landscapes, translating them into scalable, reusable platform components rather than one off solutions.

  • Partner with Legal and PSIRT (Product Security Incident Response Team) to ensure platform design aligns with contractual, regulatory, security, and ethical AI standards.

Leadership & Influence:

  • Act as a senior product leader and trusted advisor to Engineering, Operations, Sales, and executive stakeholders.

  • Drive cross functional alignment and influence architectural, roadmap, and investment decisions without relying on direct authority.

  • Represent the platform strategy in executive forums, customer conversations, roadmap reviews, and internal planning sessions.

Communication & Alignment:

  • Communicate platform strategy, roadmap, tradeoffs, and dependencies clearly to executives, engineering teams, and customer facing organizations.

  • Lead platform roadmap reviews, executive briefings, risk assessments, and cross product dependency discussions.

  • Support field, partner, and customer conversations related to identity, scalability, reporting, and platform AI capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in product management, including senior responsibility for platform, cloud or infrastructure products.

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with engineering teams in Agile and scaled Agile (SAFestyle) environments, including backlog refinement, PI planning, and iterative delivery.

  • Strong understanding of product management fundamentals: PRDs, competitive analysis, prioritization frameworks, market fit, and go-to-market planning.

  • Business savvy with strong technical acumen and analytical skills.

  • Proven experience owning highly available, globally distributed cloud services.

  • Familiarity with cloud architectures, reliability and resilience patterns, observability, and operational excellence (SLAs/SLOs, scale, performance).

  • Familiarity with AI frameworks, ML concepts, and responsible AI principles.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including executive level presentations.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence in matrixed organizations and drive alignment across diverse teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in cybersecurity industry.

  • Experience with multitenant enterprise SaaS architectures.

  • Understanding of data security concepts.

  • Familiarity with global cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc.).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
