Your role at Dynatrace

Are you passionate about creating customer value through building the industry’s most advanced AI-powered observability platform? Do you combine a product-led growth mindset with a deep understanding of how enterprise users discover, activate, and expand their use of a platform? Do you thrive on turning quantitative and qualitative insights into strategies that move the needle on growth?

As the Principal PM for Platform Growth and Monetization, you’re part of the team that delivers the foundation for domain growth by focusing on the evolution, resilience, and automation of the Dynatrace Platform. You'll champion growth as a product discipline — embedding monetization, self-serve motions, experimentation, and data-driven insights into how we build and scale the platform. You work at the intersection of product, engineering, marketing, and sales. Your success is driving measurable business outcomes by enabling our customers and their agents to use the Dynatrace Platform to deliver better software faster.

  • Define and Own Growth Strategies: Combine your understanding of market opportunities, insights from our sales team, customer requirements, and our roadmap to define growth strategies for new and existing capabilities of the Dynatrace Platform.
    • Example: Defining workflow templates as a way to reduce time-to-value for customers in adopting Dynatrace for automation
  • Own Monetization Initiatives: Develop packaging and pricing strategies for new platform capabilities, and execute them through ensuring cross-functional buy-in, field enablement, and success tracking.
    • Example: Defining the pricing and packaging for the Logs Forwarding capability currently in preview
  • Translate Data into Growth Opportunities: Partner with data analysts and AI tooling to build instrumentation, analyze usage patterns, and identify the highest-impact levers for platform adoption and expansion.
    • Example: Building the initial business case and OKRs for Dynatrace AI Observability
  • Enable Go-to-Market Alignment: Collaborate closely with other PMs, marketing, sales, and customer success to ensure growth initiatives are tightly coupled with product iterations, field motions, and customer journeys.
  • Communicate Impact: Present growth strategies, results, and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders across all functions, ensuring alignment and sustained investment in growth initiatives.
  • Influence Platform Mindset for Growth: Work with engineering and platform teams to embed a growth mindset and the required components — such as in-app guidance, instrumentation, and upgrade flows — into the core platform architecture.
What will help you succeed
  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment
  • 5+ years of experience in shaping and executing growth and monetization strategies
  • Experience leading cross-functional growth initiatives across product, engineering, marketing, sales, and post-sales with a strong ability to drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Ability to effectively engage with both technical audiences and C-level executives across Dynatrace, our partners, and customers, bringing experience in influencing and tailoring messaging for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with data and analytics: Defining instrumentation requirements, gaining quantitative insights, and combining them with qualitative feedback to inform decisions.
  • Familiarity with building enterprise SaaS platforms, observability, and cloud/AI operations is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
