Your role at Dynatrace

We are a passionate and open-minded group of software enthusiasts, and together, we are the global market leader in software intelligence. We have made it our mission to ensure that millions of people worldwide have a flawless digital experience, made possible through a unique combination of observability, automation, and AI - all compacted into one cloud-based software intelligence platform. Our platform operates across every cloud, multiple cloud-native technologies, and large-scale enterprise environments.

The Edge Data Platform solution (EDP) streamlines data ingestion, cloud installation, and third-party data integration. It provides a unified data collection method for easy consumption while meeting the customers where they are. Expanding the product team, we are looking for a visionary Principal Product Manager to define and lead our product management strategy and execution for cloud observability data ingestion across different cloud providers.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving a consistent product approach across different cloud providers, ensuring it is high-quality, performant, and aligned with both market needs and Dynatrace’s platform goals.

You will collaborate closely with experienced Product Managers dedicated to individual cloud providers, as well as with product leaders, engineering teams, platform specialists, and customers. This collaboration will give you a unique opportunity to influence strategy, set direction, and deliver meaningful outcomes that redefine how data ingestion works at scale.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead the strategic direction and cross-functional execution for cloud observability data ingestion across multiple cloud providers, specifically the three hyperscale platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Together with product leaders and fellow Product Managers, you will define the product roadmap, shape both near-term and long-term strategy, and balance the right level of investment between ongoing improvements, maintenance, and innovation.

  • Collaborate with top-tier teams in engineering, design, and go-to-market to deliver seamless, impactful integrations that WOW customers and create value-add that sells and impacts product adoption in a measurable manner.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers for individual cloud providers and partners to ensure that cloud provider-specific features, services, and changes are anticipated, integrated, tested, and released.

  • Establish KPIs for ingestion success (e.g.: volume of data ingestion), track performance and pivot strategy based on analytics and feedback.

  • Work with internal customers (other R&D departments, support, sales, customer success) to gather feedback, define requirements, and prioritize integrations that drive customer value.

  • Ensure that our cloud integrations meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement (e.g.: evaluate telemetry, monitoring of ingestion pipelines; identify bottlenecks or failure modes; propose architectural or process changes).

  • Represent the voice of the customer and market trends in shaping where cloud integration should head. Stay abreast of new services from AWS/Azure/GCP, industry developments, and the competitive landscape.

  • Manage dependency and risk across cloud feature roadmaps.
  • Mentor other Product Managers.
What will help you succeed
  • 7–10+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in cloud, data ingestion, observability, or integrations.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers and B2B SaaS products.
  • Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of product managers, lead engineers, lead architects, designers, and other business stakeholders.
  • Strong technical understanding of cloud provider services (AWS, Azure, GCP), and architectures used for data ingestion / pipelines (agents, SDKs, streaming, serverless, managed services).
  • Proven track record of leading product features or integrations (or similarly complex global/cloud-provider-dependent products) across different cloud providers.
  • Experience working with or in cloud provider partner ecosystems, familiarity with how AWS/Azure/GCP prioritize features, cooperate with ISVs, share roadmaps.
  • Innovative thinking - ability to bring market and business understanding into the product to deliver differentiated value for customers and prospects, aligned with Dynatrace’s goals and strategy.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to drive informed decision-making and measure product success.
  • Proactive and hands-on personality with high drive and a dynamic mindset.
  • Clear sense of ownership and accountability as well as a bias for action.
  • Strong communication skills towards team, peers, and stakeholders alike: can operate at both high strategic level (vision, business case) and detailed execution (specs, architecture trade-offs).
  • Strong stakeholder management: you’ll need to align engineering, platform, operations, legal/compliance, and external partners.
  • Leadership skills: ability to influence without full direct control, mentor others, set direction, and maintain alignment across teams.
Why you will love being a Dynatracer

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
