ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a Principal Architect for Network Services who will understand existing engineering standards and reference architectures. The ideal candidate will guide application teams to operate within established architectures and standards but where warranted will understand why deviations are necessary and be able to articulate these back to Architecture and engineering teams for approval. The ideal candidate is broad in skillset—experienced across routing/switching, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, DNS/DDI—and comfortable engaging directly with application developers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess new project/application requirements and determine alignment with standards.
  • Identify when true requirements justify modifying or creating new standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison for application teams requesting network services.
  • Translate application requirements into network architecture considerations.
  • Guide teams to use standard, reusable network capabilities.
  • Produce high-level and detailed network solution designs.
  • Review designs for compliance, operational readiness, and standards adherence.
  • Collaborate across Cloud, Security, Platform, and Application Architecture teams.
  • Provide architectural leadership and mentorship across network engineering.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • 7–10 years experience in network engineering or architecture.
  • Broad expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, proxies, DNS/DDI.
  • Strong understanding of modern application architectures and connectivity flows.
  • Ability to translate application needs into scalable network solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to face off with developers.
  • Experience developing standards and reference architectures.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust, microservices, service mesh.
  • Experience guiding standards adoption across diverse teams.

Pay Range
$170,000$200,000 USD
