We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration. If you want to discover a career with greater purpose, join us as we transform and accelerate research and development.
As a Pre-Analytical / Biorepository Associate, you will support a variety of routine activities across the specimen lifecycle — from receipt and accessioning of incoming clinical specimens through storage, inventory management, and outbound shipment. Depending on assigned work area, your day-to-day may emphasize pre-analytical (inbound) activities, biorepository (storage and outbound) activities, or both.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Specimen receipt & pre-analytical processing
Assist with receipt of consignments and shipments, opening of shipments, and quality check of patient information forms.
Escalate incorrect, missing, or damaged shipment information to senior-level staff.
Conduct a secondary check of shipping materials to ensure specimens are not left in kit packaging; dispose of or recycle kit shipping supplies correctly.
Handle receipt of compounds and control material following safety procedures; support after-hours alarms and other job-critical functions as needed.
Biorepository Storage & Outbound
Complete the multi-step process to prepare specimens for storage in cold units and place specimens into storage.
Perform daily use and input of specimen data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS); store specimens within LIMS and maintain specimen integrity, inventory, and audit history.
Prepare and complete outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the storage and shipment workflows.
Respond to email correspondence and support LRMS ticket requests; raise IT tickets for system issues.
As needed, upload paperwork into LIMS and archive physical paperwork monthly.
Shared across both areas
Assist with equipment maintenance, supply inventory functions, and general cleanup of workstations while following safety procedures.
Perform various administrative duties as required and ensure competency and full understanding of all processes within the role.
What We Are Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
