Our vision is to help clients build enduring wealth across generations by combining institutional-grade investment sourcing with personalized portfolio construction, cutting-edge technology, and deep sector expertise. We aim to make sophisticated private market opportunities and modern wealth solutions more transparent, connected, and actionable.

Our team comprises a diverse international group of individuals from leading organizations and with diverse backgrounds, including private equity, venture capital, banking, software development, law, and entrepreneurship. We are committed to attracting top-notch talent and providing opportunities for growth and development based on their individual strengths and interests.

Your Role

Your role as Portfolio Manager is part of our Portfolio Management team. The mission of the role is to ensure that the portfolios of our UHNW clients are actively monitored, well-constructed and aligned with their objectives.

The Associate is allocated to a defined group of European client relationships, covering OCIO and portfolio advisory mandates. Portfolios are multi-asset, spanning liquid and semi-liquid investments, often across multiple banks and counterparties. The role carries direct ownership of portfolio oversight, from asset allocation, fees, liquidity and risk to the quality of the investments proposed to clients.

The role reports to Head of Portfolio Management, and cross-reports to the Relationship Managers. It works in close collaboration with both, providing RMs with timely, high-quality investment input and the confidence that their clients are being taken care of even when they are not looking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee client portfolios for OCIO and portfolio advisory clients, playing an active role in shaping clients’ portfolios across a range of asset classes (fixed income, public equity, alternative assets...)
  • Maintain clear visibility on asset allocation, fees, liquidity and risk across client portfolios
  • Monitor performance, attribution and risk metrics, identifying portfolio drift, concentration risks and misalignment with client objectives
  • Assess investments and opportunities proposed by banks and other counterparties (funds, structured products, discretionary mandates, alternatives), forming clear and well-reasoned views
  • Identify sub-optimal products (fees, quality, overlap) and propose better alternatives
  • Support Relationship Managers with timely, high-quality investment input ahead of and following client discussions
  • Track transactions, changes and next steps, so that monitoring and follow-up actions are not missed
  • Support business development meetings with prospective clients
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Management team on portfolio construction and investment decisions, with a view to contributing to the continuous improvement of our investment process

What We Are Looking For

  • Outstanding academic background with a master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Solid experience in portfolio management or advisory, ideally for UHNW individuals, within a Multi-Family Office, OCIO, Private Bank or Wealth Manager
  • Strong grasp of portfolio construction and asset allocation, including strategic vs tactical allocation and diversification principles, and the ability to assess multi-asset portfolios (liquid and semi-liquid)
  • Ability to analyze investment products proposed by banks and asset managers, with a solid understanding of fees (explicit and implicit), liquidity terms and risk drivers
  • Experience monitoring portfolio performance, attribution and risk metrics
  • Comfortable interacting with sophisticated UHNW clients and Relationship Managers, and able to explain investment concepts clearly and credibly, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail in portfolio reviews, transaction monitoring and documentation, and ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment
  • Experience in manager selection or due diligence is a plus
  • Basic financial modelling and portfolio analytics skills are a plus
  • International exposure or experience working with non-Italian institutions is a plus
  • Tech-savvy, with experience in a portfolio analytics or wealth reporting platform (Addepar is a plus)
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative and multicultural mindset
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with a hands-on and flexible attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-growing environment
  • Fluent in English. Other languages constitute a plus

Location: Remote work is fine, but being based at a Heritage office is a plus.

What We Offer

  • An exceptional team and environment: You will work alongside highly talented professionals from leading global institutions such as Carlyle, CD&R, McKinsey, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and top technology companies. We operate with a high talent bar, intellectual rigor, and a strong focus on excellence.
  • High ownership and client-facing scope: You will take ownership of the oversight of UHNW client portfolios, working closely with senior stakeholders, Relationship Managers and clients. You will have significant responsibility in assessing investment opportunities and shaping the quality of the portfolios we manage and advise on.
  • Exposure to the intersection of wealth management and technology: You will work on complex multi-asset portfolios and sophisticated wealth structures, using Heritage's proprietary platform to consolidate and analyze portfolio data, and contribute to the continuous evolution of a technology-driven wealth management offering.
  • International scope and strong culture: You will operate in a diverse, international team representing 15+ nationalities, with hiring across multiple geographies. We foster a collaborative and ambitious culture, supported by regular team offsites and opportunities to build strong relationships.

At Heritage, we are proud to have a diverse team representing over 15 nationalities, with all communication conducted in English. We are deeply committed to providing equal opportunities and work actively to remove potential biases in our hiring process by involving a Hiring Committee in all decision-making.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
