What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a Data Center Portfolio Capacity Manager to own portfolio-level capacity planning, forecasting, and reporting across a rapidly growing data center footprint. This role sits at the intersection of data center development, site selection, finance, and compute capacity, and serves as the single source of truth for infrastructure capacity timing.

About the Role:

You will partner closely with Development and Site Selection teams to track delivery milestones, forecast phased capacity availability, and communicate changes in timelines across the organization. Your work will directly inform capital planning, compute deployment decisions, and executive-level reporting.

This role reports to the Director of Portfolio Operations and operates in a highly cross-functional, fast-scaling environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Own portfolio-level capacity planning and forecasting for all active and pipeline data center sites
  • Maintain the master capacity timeline, including go-live dates, phased capacity delivery, and readiness milestones
  • Track and communicate changes to delivery schedules, capacity timing, and risk across the portfolio
  • Partner with Development and Site Selection teams to align site-level progress with portfolio forecasts
  • Serve as the authoritative source for capacity availability updates used by Compute Capacity, Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams
  • Build and maintain capacity models, dashboards, and reporting packages for leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Standardize and catalog site attributes including location, provider, power and cooling characteristics, and delivery phases
  • Support Finance and Accounting teams with CapEx planning, budget alignment, and variance analysis
  • Translate complex infrastructure data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership
Who You Are:
  • 5+ years experience working in data center, hyperscale infrastructure, colocation, or large-scale cloud environments
  • Strong background in capacity planning, forecasting, portfolio planning, or infrastructure operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, including complex models and scenario analysis
  • Experience building executive-ready reporting and dashboards using tools such as Tableau (or similar BI tools)
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and evolving timelines in a fast-growth environment
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable presenting data-driven insights to senior and executive audiences
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting data center development lifecycles (site selection, design, build, and go-live)
  • Familiarity with data center capacity concepts (MW, power density, cooling types, phased delivery)
  • Experience with additional analytics or planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Smartsheet, SQL)
  • Background in capital planning or infrastructure investment analysis

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
