Job Summary   
The Media Planner, Digital Performance Media will own the day-to-day logistics in the planning, implementing and maintaining of Performance Media campaigns, knowledge should be expand across strategy planning of search, programmatic, social, affiliate, and app marketing through a performance lens.  Ultimately, this role drives innovation at the campaign level, and cultivates key partnerships to deliver the best digital media opportunities to the client. This individual will work closely with Performance Media Activation teams, including the Analytics teams across PM and Horizon general market The planner should have the ability to synthesize performance data, applying learnings to media plans and being able to contribute to create a performance focused media strategy, while owning elements of planning, strategy, and collaborating with other internal channel stakeholders.  

 

What You’ll Do  
Strategy – 30% 

  • Review Performance Media activation recommendations and be able to contribute to creating a wholistic performance-focused media plan 

  • Contribute to recommendations on where to invest client media dollars across the performance media channels 

  • Ability to contribute to reporting insights and create recommendations from reporting data from performance media channels that ties back to client business goals 

  • Maintain accuracy of insertion orders within internal systems tool to reserve advertising space and is responsible for accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery ensuring proper protocol 

  • Collaborate with assistant planners, senior planners, and supervisors for strategy and plan development  

  • Employ Horizon suite of planning, evaluation and buying tools for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development and reporting 

  • Participate in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development 

  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities and applications in biddable environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge in conjunction with performance teams 

  • Create and present media specific documents such as media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions 

 

Campaign Management & Execution – 10% 

  • Oversee trafficking and site tagging, follow through to ensure sites are enabled, and functioning properly, QA’ing all pixels 

  • Issue specs documents and ensure all materials are received from creative agency/channel teams 

  • Oversee creation of campaign post launch information such as screenshots, links and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients 

  • Advise on post campaign reconciliation and billing 

Reporting & Analysis - 40% 

  • Monitor and report weekly on biddable and direct channel performance, providing an active voice communicating optimization opportunities and challenges 

  • Parse through large datasets to provide critical thinking and analysis, as well as draw conclusions and discover actionable implications 

  • Collaborate with channel teams, including analytics teams to aggregate data and ensure standardization across portfolio of accounts 

  • Responsible for providing data for dashboards/Excel trackers, as needed by account, ensuring accuracy and validity of data shown 

Relationship Management - 20% 

  • Collaborate with Senior Planner or Supervisor to identify problems and recommend solutions 

  • Keep Senior Planner and Supervisor updated on the status and timing of deliverables 

  • Maintain relationships with key external partners and vendors from to ensure execution timelines  

  • Manage communication about performance goals and pacing 

  • Engage and effectively interact with other Horizon departments, i.e. Business Solutions, Traffic, Operations  

  • Apply knowledge of current/previous clients’ specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships

Preferred Skills & Experience 

  • 1+ years previous digital media experience with a performance media background 

  • Basic knowledge of advanced analytics and performance media 

  • Experience with Digital Media Management Platforms (i.e. Prisma) 

  • Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts 

  • Basic knowledge of end to end campaign execution 

  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to discuss how those functions can or should be applied relative to the media planning process 

  • Experience with third party ad servers 

  • Familiarity with biddable channels and partner direct

Salary Range

$66,300.00 - $85,000.00
