People Operations & Payroll Specialist

Eudia is seeking a highly detail-oriented People Operations & Payroll Specialist to join our growing People & Talent team. This role brings HR operations, onboarding, and payroll together in one seat: you'll own Rippling, our people platform, run onboarding for every new Eudian, and keep payroll operations accurate and on time. You'll report directly to and partner closely with the People & Talent Lead, working alongside hiring managers and Finance. This role is onsite in our Palo Alto office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Rippling as our people platform end to end, keeping HR, payroll, benefits, and employee data accurate, well configured, and easy for every employee to use.
  • Manage Rippling cases from opening to closure, working closely with Rippling representatives to resolve issues quickly and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Run payroll operations accurately and on time, and partner with People & Talent Lead and Finance on approvals.
  • Manage payroll tax registrations and agency notices as we hire in new states and localities in Rippling.
  • Own the new hire onboarding experience, from offer acceptance through the first 30 days.
  • Lead new hire orientation and set every new Eudian up for success from day one.
  • Partner with the People & Talent Lead and hiring managers to design first-week experiences and role-specific onboarding plans.
  • Complete I-9 and E-Verify on time and keep onboarding documentation audit-ready.
  • Manage offboarding, ensuring every change is accurate through the final paycheck.
  • Keep employee data clean through regular audits, and build reports for headcount, audits, and leadership requests.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about payroll, benefits, and our people systems.
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives for the People & Talent function as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or people systems, preferably in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Rippling or a similar HRIS, such as ADP, Gusto, or Paylocity.
  • Experience running new hire onboarding and orientation, with working knowledge of I-9 and E-Verify requirements.
  • Working knowledge of payroll operations and payroll tax registrations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of catching errors before they reach employees.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliations.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential employee and compensation data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset.

Compensation: $85,000 to $100,000 per year
