We are seeking a dynamic and strategic People Operations Manager to lead and scale our people-centric programs and processes. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in creating an exceptional employee experience, supporting organizational growth, and aligning HR initiatives with business objectives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, a champion of our culture, and a key driver of operational excellence within the People function.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Strategy & Operations
    • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that support business goals.
    • Partner with leadership to support organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
    • Drive people analytics and reporting to inform strategic decisions.
  • Talent Lifecycle Management
    • Lead the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, internal mobility, performance management, and offboarding.
    • Support hiring managers and recruiters in building a best-in-class candidate and onboarding experience.
    • Support performance management cycles, goal-setting frameworks (OKRs/KPIs), and talent reviews.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Own and manage employee benefits programs (healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.).
    • Evaluate, recommend, and roll out benefits offerings that meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
    • Handle annual open enrollment, resolve employee benefit questions, and liaise with vendors and brokers.
    • Monitor compliance with benefits-related laws and regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, etc.).
  • Employee Experience & Engagement
    • Launch and iterate on engagement surveys, feedback loops, and employee recognition programs.
    • Drive learning and development initiatives—internal knowledge sharing, external training, or conference access.
    • Partner with the admin team for employee recognitions, company events.
  • Immigration & Global Mobility
    • Manage all immigration-related processes including H-1B, O-1, STEM OPT, TN, and Green Card sponsorships.
    • Partner with legal counsel to ensure timely filing, compliance, and communication regarding visa applications and renewals.
    • Support international candidates and employees with documentation, timelines, and onboarding logistics.
    • Maintain accurate records of immigration statuses and proactively manage renewals and deadlines.
  • HR Compliance & Risk
    • Lead immigration efforts, Ensure HR practices are compliant with local labor laws and global standards.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain clean, auditable people data and partner with Finance and Legal as needed.
  • People Infrastructure & Systems
    • Own and optimize People Ops tools and systems (e.g., Workday, Gusto, Lattice, Greenhouse, Excel).
    • Maintain HR documentation, processes, and compliance—especially across jurisdictions if operating globally.
    • Use data and metrics to inform people decisions, monitor team health, and drive transparency.
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in People Ops, ideally in a high-growth tech or AI startup.
  • Proven experience managing people programs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Strong grasp of HR tools, compliance, and best practices across the U.S. (and bonus for global exposure).
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience supporting highly technical teams (engineers, ML researchers, data scientists).
  • Startup mentality: you’re proactive, scrappy, adaptable, and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you’re approachable, empathetic, and clear.
Bonus Points:
  • Strong expertise in one of HR verticals: recruiting and staffing, compensation design, training and development, etc. 
  • Familiarity with equity compensation and early-stage startup structures.
  • Passion for AI, machine learning, or emerging technologies.
  • Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar.
