ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a People Operations Generalist at Aero, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality employee experience across the full teammate lifecycle. In this early-career generalist role, you'll gain hands-on exposure to all areas of People Ops including recruiting coordination, onboarding, internal communications, engagement, payroll, and systems. Reporting to the Senior People Operations Business Partner, you’ll collaborate closely with teams across the company, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support full-cycle recruiting efforts by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, coordinating background checks
- Coordinate and execute a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, including IT and email setup, completion of new hire paperwork, and leading orientation sessions
- Drafting offer letters, internal memos for personnel changes and contractor agreements
- Maintain and update employee records, generate HR reports, and track key HR metrics to help identify trends and inform process improvements
- Assist with bi-monthly payroll processing through Gusto for both hourly and salaried team members, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate offboarding processes, including termination documentation, system access removal, and alumni transition support
- Monitor and manage the People Ops inbox, ensuring timely responses to employee inquiries and escalating complex issues to the appropriate stakeholders when necessary
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal communications, helping draft and distribute messaging around staffing policy updates, company events etc.
- Oversee incoming company mail at Van Nuys office and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders
- Assist in creating and maintaining training materials and resources for employee development
- Support and help implement employee engagement initiatives, including planning and executing team events such as monthly lunches, offsites, and annual holiday party
- Collaborate on various People team projects and take ownership of ad hoc initiatives as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, with 1 year in recruiting preferred
- Must be tech savvy and willing to learn new technologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including both written and spoken communication
- Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail
- Able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic start-up environment
BENEFITS & PAY
- Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year in Los Angeles, CA - exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location
