Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We’re accelerating our mission with the launch of Factory 3 in Mesa, Arizona, a 290,000-square-foot facility creating 350 new jobs. We are expanding rapidly to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to expand into naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian is backed by leading investors including T. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our fast-growing team is united around reindustrializing American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.

The Role:

Hadrian is building the factory of the future — precision aerospace and defense components, made faster and more reliably than anyone thought possible. As we scale past 550 employees and deepen our DoD contract footprint, HR compliance is not overhead. It is how we protect our contracts, our people, and our ability to operate.

This is Hadrian's first dedicated People Compliance Manager. You will serve as the company's internal subject matter expert and trusted advisor on all employment compliance matters — owning the design, implementation, and continuous evolution of our compliance programs across federal contractor obligations, ITAR and export control, California employment law, and manufacturing safety. You'll operate cross-functionally with People leadership, Legal, and business leaders.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as Hadrian's recognized authority on People compliance — providing expert guidance and operating as an internal consultant to People leadership, business leaders, Legal, and cross-functional partners across the organization.

  • Build and own Hadrian's People compliance program architecture: risk assessments, audit calendars, governance frameworks, and remediation roadmaps across federal contractor, ITAR/export control, and California employment law domains.

  • Own specialized regulatory compliance for People, including ITAR programs, California employment law, and Cal/OSHA manufacturing obligations — partnering with Legal, EHS, Infosec, and the business to keep all programs current and audit-ready.

  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable business solutions — building training programs, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms that create a culture of compliance accountability.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on compliance health, risk exposure, and program maturity; proactively monitor regulatory changes and update programs ahead of new requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of HR compliance experience, with meaningful time inside a federal contractor or defense/aerospace environment.

  • Direct, hands-on experience with OFCCP, ITAR, E-Verify, and California employment law.

  • Demonstrated ability to build compliance programs and governance structures from scratch.

  • Track record as a trusted advisor to business leaders — translating regulatory complexity into practical guidance.

  • Strong program management skills across cross-functional initiatives.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience preparing for or responding to a DCSA, OFCCP, or California DLSE audit.

  • Security clearance administration or FSO coordination experience.

  • Familiarity with CMMC workforce documentation requirements.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with Cal/OSHA obligations.

  • History of building compliance maturity models and executive reporting frameworks.

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent compliance certification.

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $120,000 - $180,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits for Full-time Employees
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.

  • Flexible vacation policy

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the ITAR here.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
