OUR VALUES

  • Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages with creativity and ingenuity.

  • It’s the people. Our team is our competitive advantage and we are better together.
YOUR MISSION

Partner with leaders across Finance, Legal, Business Development and Mission Readiness to build high-performing, engaged teams. This is a strategic partnership role – not a generalist position – suited for a People professional with 5-7 years of experience who can build credibility fast, manage competing priorities across multiple lean functions, and operate with autonomy in a high-growth environment being built from the ground up. Reports to the Manager, People Business Partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Partnership Serve as the dedicated PBP for corporate function leaders, providing counsel on org design, talent planning, leadership development, and workforce strategy. Build trusted relationships through proactive consultation and a genuine understanding of the challenges unique to enabling functions — compliance rigor alongside speed, lean teams scaling fast, and non-technical career paths without established ladders.

Talent & Performance Guide managers on performance management, succession planning, and career development. Focus particularly on building professional development pathways for non-technical roles. Drive execution of people programs — performance cycles, talent reviews, engagement initiatives — and feed insights back into program design.

Employee Relations Own low-to-moderate complexity ER cases independently. Conduct investigations, advise managers, and ensure consistent, values-aligned resolution. Escalate high-stakes or legally sensitive matters to the Manager, PBP.

Compensation & People Data Partner with the Compensation Manager on comp cycles for corporate teams, including market benchmarking and data analysis for professional roles. Analyze engagement, attrition, and performance data across your client groups to surface patterns, flag risks early, and contribute cross-functional themes to quarterly exec readouts.

Organizational Capability Partner with Manager, PBP to assess capability gaps, prioritize learning needs across lean teams, and identify cross-functional development opportunities. Support change initiatives — restructures, workforce planning, scaling efforts — ensuring alignment with business goals and a positive employee experience throughout.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
