As Figma continues to grow globally, this role will help create more scalable, consistent, and efficient payroll processes while ensuring regional teams have the support they need to deliver accurate and timely payroll.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:
  • Lead delivery of payroll initiatives from planning through implementation, including vendor transitions, new-country launches, system integrations, and process changes
  • Partner with regional Payroll teams to define requirements, manage dependencies, identify risks, and drive projects to completion
  • Work closely with Benefits, HRIS, Accounting, People, and other partners to translate business changes into effective payroll solutions
  • Partner with global payroll vendors to drive project delivery, resolve implementation or operational issues, and escalate risks as needed
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve payroll processes across regions
  • Support payroll operations across the full cycle, including review, validation, troubleshooting, and processing coverage when needed
  • Help establish scalable program management practices, documentation, and visibility across the global payroll portfolio
  • Use data, technology, automation, and AI where appropriate to improve payroll efficiency, controls, and Figmate experience
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • 8+ years of experience in global or multi-country payroll, including hands-on support across AMER and EMEA
  • Proven experience leading payroll implementations, vendor transitions, system integrations, or other complex payroll programs, including international expansion or new-country launches
  • Hands-on knowledge of payroll operations from processing through reconciliation and issue resolution
  • Experience working with global payroll vendors and cross-functional stakeholders; Workday experience required
  • Excellent program management, prioritization, and execution skills, with the ability to influence and drive accountability across teams without direct authority, and strong judgment and communication in a high-growth global environment
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Compliance and other international vendors
  • Experience supporting APAC payroll operations, vendor consolidation, or global payroll transformation
  • Familiarity with equity, mobility, benefits, or pension-related payroll
  • Experience using automation or AI to improve payroll processes

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
