You see resilience as a discipline, not a reaction. If you’re passionate about reducing risk before it becomes an incident, building practical governance that enables delivery at scale, and keeping critical client-facing platforms stable, resilient, and continuity-ready, you’ve found the right team.

As the Resilience, Release Governance & Business Continuity Product Manager within Payments Digital & Design, you serve as the bridge between Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Executive Leadership. You set the standards and run the forums that drive disciplined production change, continuity planning, and coordinated incident leadership across a complex global environment, partnering across regions and time zones in a follow-the-sun model. You’ll drive outcomes through influence and coordination, without direct ownership of the underlying platforms.

Job responsibilities
  • Drive down incident volume and severity over time through strong problem management and root-cause analysis.

  • Own and govern release and change management, improving release quality and change outcomes without slowing delivery.

  • Apply AI-enabled tools to improve decision quality, accelerate insight, strengthen communications, and reimagine workflows to eliminate manual effort using available firm tooling.

  • Lead significant client-impacting events end-to-end, proactively detecting and assessing impact, coordinating triage through resolution and post-incident follow-through, and driving clear communications and escalations so clients and stakeholders hear from us first.

  • Establish and continuously improve standard communications (internal and external) that are executive- and client-grade, clear, timely, and consistent under time pressure.

  • Builds real-time insight and leading indicators across release quality, change risk, stability trends and communication timeliness, and tracks and reports stability outcomes, risk posture and client experience impacts to direct focus for key stakeholders

  • Demonstrate superior judgment to mitigate risk; escalate risk/control issues appropriately and drive effective remediation.

  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers

  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap

  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition

  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area

  • Demonstrated communications leadership during service disruption, including drafting executive- and client-grade notifications under time pressure, with exceptional written, presentation and verbal communication skills

  • Experience strengthening release and change processes, including readiness reviews, approvals and back-out decisions

  • Demonstrated use of automation and/or AI-enabled tooling to remove manual effort and improve speed/quality of decisioning, communications, or reporting.

  • Strong data and analytics capability; experience defining leading indicators and using them to direct focus and decision-making.

  • Strong understanding of risk and controls concepts; ability to operate effectively in governed environments.

  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive adoption of improved decision processes across engineering, product, and control partners in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Knowledge of electronic banking/payments products and systems.

  • High attention to detail with strong prioritization, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics

  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience building or improving dashboards/metrics that provide near real-time insight into stability, change risk, and release quality.

  • Proven track record leading major production incidents end-to-end, including resolution and post-incident prevention.

  • Experience delivering improvements at scale across multiple regions/time zones in a follow-the-sun operating model.

  • Knowledge of payments risk, security, and resiliency practices.

  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement through standardization, simplification, and automation.

  • Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
