We’re seeking an exceptionally talented paralegal to support our in-house legal department. In this role, you'll provide critical support to the legal team across a variety of areas, including contracts, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, litigation, and enhancing overall legal operations. We're seeking someone with outstanding organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Support corporate governance, such as filing annual reports, maintaining entity records and assisting with due diligence for transactions and partnerships.
- Assist with compliance and intellectual property matters, including monitoring regulations and preparing supporting documentation.
- Develop and implement processes to streamline legal operations, integrate technology tools, and drive overall efficiencies.
- Support litigation matters by managing case files, assisting with discovery, responding to subpoenas, and coordinating with external counsel.
- Be a swiss army knife: pitch in for anything needed in the legal department, even if it’s unfamiliar or not in your lane.
- This role requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the Palo Alto, CA office, and occasional travel.
- Minimum 7 years of paralegal experience–ideally through a combination of experience at innovative technology companies and/or top-tier law firms (startup experience a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree required; ABA-approved paralegal certification preferred
- Have a strong sense of ownership, be inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Tech-savvy with an understanding or keen interest in emerging technologies like AI
- California Notary registration or a strong interest in obtaining certification is desirable
