Position OverviewThe Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities through in-person networking, relationship-building, community engagement, industry events, and strategic business development activities.
This role serves as Hawke's face in the market, building relationships with business owners, executives, referral partners, trade organizations, and local business communities to drive pipeline creation and revenue growth.
Success in this role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strong networking abilities, a proactive approach to business development, and a passion for building meaningful professional relationships that translate into sales opportunities.
This is a highly visible, externally facing role designed to expand Hawke's presence in key markets and generate consistent revenue-producing opportunities for the Business Development team.
QualificationsCore ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Networking
- Represent Hawke Media at networking events, industry associations, chambers of commerce, meetups, and community organizations
- Develop relationships with business owners, executives, founders, and decision-makers
- Create opportunities through strategic networking and relationship cultivation
- Actively identify and engage potential clients within target industries and verticals
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with complementary service providers and strategic partners
- Identify opportunities to expand Hawke's local business ecosystem
- Develop long-term partnerships that consistently generate qualified introductions and opportunities
- Serve as a trusted resource within professional communities
- Conduct initial discovery conversations with prospects
- Assess business fit, needs, challenges, and marketing objectives
- Qualify opportunities according to established sales criteria
- Coordinate seamless handoffs to Business Development Executives (BDEs)
- Serve as a professional ambassador for Hawke Media in the marketplace
- Promote Hawke's services, expertise, and value proposition
- Strengthen brand awareness within target business communities
- Represent company values and culture in all external interactions
- Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and opportunities
- Track relationship development and follow-up activities
- Manage networking pipeline and referral partner relationships
- Ensure timely follow-up with all qualified prospects
- 3+ years of business development, sales, account management, or relationship-based selling experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
- Comfortable attending frequent in-person events and meetings
